4 | Fibromyalgia | constipation, acid reflux | All in all, Orudis (ketoprofen) seems to help with chronic pain, but as another patient mentioned, it seems to be less effective the longer you take it. The only real problems I've had with it are bouts of being painfully constipated & acid reflux if I don't remain completely upright for 30 minutes (no bending over allowed). | F | 31 | 3 years | 11/30/2005 | 3 | osteoarthritis | Nil | Take the drug intermittently for 5yrs for osteorarthritis (neck) I found that when I first commenced the drug 5yrs ago it provided better relief than I currently experience. | F | 50 | 5 years | 8/9/2004 |
ORUDIS KT (KETOPROFEN): Ketoprofen is used to relieve pain from various conditions. It also reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness from arthritis. Since the sustained-action form does not work right away, it is best used to treat ongoing conditions (such as arthritis). Other drugs or forms should be used when quick relief is needed (such as of toothache, headache, or menstrual pain). This medication is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking your body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. This effect helps to decrease swelling, pain, or fever. If you are treating a chronic condition such as arthritis, ask your doctor about non-drug treatments and/or using other medications to treat your pain. See also Warning section.
