Tecfidera was a brand new drug in 2013 that my neuro suggested. Worked wonders for me. No new lesions and I felt almost normal for years. White blood cell count went down so I have to try a new drug. Devastated. Some tips for side effects. Consult a Doctor prior to trying these remedies. To combat the flushing, I would take two low-dose aspirin about an hour before dose. For flushing and stomach upset, I would also try to take it with a meal - at the very least, a full fat greek yogurt, full fat cheese, etc. Protein and fat helped. Nothing helped the dry mouth, and apparently it's not a recorded side effect (although it's the only reason I had dry mouth). Tec nearly cleared my severe Plaque Psoriasis (and made me a happy girl), but after several months Tec did nothing for the MS, having new lesions and/or enhancing lesions on each MRI. Side effects were bothersome and required a bit of planning, but because I had great results with the psoriasis, I tolerated it longer than I would have if I did not have psoriasis. | F | 34 | 10 months 2X day | 5/6/2016 | 5 | Multiple Sclerosis | Initial nausea, stomach cramps and flushing.
