| 1 | Fungus to one toenail | For some reason my toenail turned a green-ish color after I began using it. Before I began treatment my nail was white. I can find no information about the possibility of this occurring. This is second time I've used Jublia and the weird discoloration happened after beginning treatment both times. | Jublia is VERY expensive. The first time I was prescribed Jublia I was able to get samples, so it didn't hurt my wallet. This time the cost of one bottle was $500 and that was after my insurance discounted it. There is no way I'm going to spend thousands of dollars for something that doesn't seem to work at all. I'd rather risk the chance of using oral Lamisil, despite the possibility of liver problems. JUBLIA (EFINACONAZOLE 10%): This medication is used to treat toenail infection caused by fungus. It works by stopping the growth of certain types of fungus. Efinaconazole belongs to a class of drugs known as azole antifungals. This medication treats only fungal infections. It will not work for other types of infection, such as those caused by bacteria. Unnecessary use or overuse of any drug used to treat infection can lead to its decreased effectiveness. FDA Approval Date: 2014-06-06 (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)
