With the benefit of hindsight, I was wrong. My previous depression had more to do with an unpleasant work situation and other situational factors that were creating anxiety for me. Though this med is far from perfect, with side effects such as weight gain and lethargy, it calms what has been described as an "unquiet mind." My mind no longer races, I feel like I can focus better, and an inner calm has replaced my over-intense energy and agitation. Blocking dopamine is how you control your symptoms of schizophrenia. However, these side effects are dose dependent...meaning that if you block too much, you experience the movement disorders, lactating, etc. Your doctor needs to lower your dose. | You shouldn't be so quick to speak negatively about this medication.
