| 3 | "Monster" clot in surface vein | I've read all the comments to date. No one mentioned bloody urine as a side effect. On my fifth day I awoke to a toilet bowl full of what looked like beet juice! Where did that blood come from. My doctor recommended that I finish my "course' of four more injections, but I chose not to since I was also having mild stomach discomfort. After skipping the a.m. injection, by noon my urine returned to normal. Most of my injection sites developed a small bruise, but one turned into an eggplant sized and colored bruise that expanded even more as it began to fade. | F | 65 | 5 days | 11/11/2007 | 2 | DVT | I was unable to inject into stomache so injected into back of arms and into upper fatty part of thigh and am experiencing sharp shooting horrible pains down leg and arm when reach or extend just a certain angle or right after stepping out of bed in am. A few times I thought I was having a heart attack only to be told by my doctor that it was nothing to worry about. Last surgery in 2005, and have been on Coumadin since 1968 with no problems. Scheduled for knee surgery and cardiologist prescribed Lovenox. Questioned this since have never had to use it before, but was told it's to prevent clots which can occur with knee/hip surgeries. Took first injection had a mild headache - which was unusual since I don't get headaches often. Next shot, the headache continued so I called cardiologist who said it wasn't from the med. Had headache every day..... end result - had brain surgery to remove large amounts of blood. No one listened and no one cared. Be loud, be verbal, and insist that someone listen to you.
