| 3 | Ct Colonography | Expected diarrhoea but very prolonged. My CT is due this morning. I have followed the instructions exactly but still have diarrhoea, gurgling and now bleeding. My back has gone into spasm and I've had two hours sleep since Fri.... it is now Monday morning. I have fibromyalgia and take thyroxine- learned yesterday that a lot of doctors adjust your Levothyroxine whilst taking Gastrografin... apart from the pooping every 20 mins or less is that why ??? Does it cause insomnia as well as everything else?? | Tastes like Pernod. However, the quantity of liquid is small and therefore the unpleasant taste didn't last too long. I took the first dose at 10am and drove 200 miles which I was nervous about! I then drive back again and took my second dose after I had finished the journey. I would recommend NEVER playing Russian roulette with this second dose. After about an hour my tummy started rumbling and I had fairly acute pains. I was carrying some boxes upstairs after clearing my daughter's uni flat and literally ran to the loo as fast as possible. It was not fast enough! I managed a few hours sleep before then being woken hourly. I think that it is an extremely effective bowel clearing agent but please make sure that you are very close to a bathroom after your second dose! | I still have rumblings and pain three days later and I'm still racing to the bathroom. Small enough quantity to swallow in one gulp with a fizzy drink chaser. It probably helped that I like aniseed flavouring. It is also very bitter, although that quickly goes with a good drink of something nice. All in all, not a bad experience and so much better than moviprep, just the thought of that has me heaving.
