| 1 | sinus infection | severe diarrhea and vomiting. Took 1 pill, side effects hit within 2 hours, lasting for about 6 hours. Uncontrollable watery diarrhea with vomiting at same time. Lived on my toilet holding a bowl for 6 hours while my son (age 10) pleaded with doctors to help me. Vomited about every 5 minutes, sometimes less. Doctors called in a suppository prescription (phenergan) to help me, which a friend had to go pickup. Doctors are idiots, how do they expect a suppository to stay in me while I can't get my own bodily fluids to stay in me. | This medication left me feeling beaten. It scared my kid, he called 911 because I couldn't catch my breath at times because I couldn't stop puking and gagging. This was my 2nd experience with this medication, though I didn't realize it before I took it. A year or two prior, an antibiotic taken caused the same exact problems but it was in the middle of the night and my child didn't see it. The results, onset, and duration were exactly alike, but I didn't have any medicine to help me (they called in phenergan). So, once I had the same reaction again, I called all around to find the previous doctor I'd seen 1 to 2 years prior and confirmed it was same medicine. They had to really search through some records, but they found a call from me one morning "panicked" over a reaction to the antibiotic. I'm not aware of any problems with other antibiotics or penicillins, but I definitely stay away from this one. I am looking into therapy as well as any natural serotonin producers. I feel completely drained and am stuck in this anxious craze. I want my life back.
