Took the med the 1st time without any other medication and ended up in the hospital with a GCS of 7 catatonic state for hours. Not realizing the association they have it to me a day later and the same thing happened. Anything happened like this to anyone else.

Stopped the meds no other issues. The doctors didn't think that was it but a weird coincidence. Please help me. T

Cotton mouth, itchy skin, congested sinus, very thirsty

Think twice before taking this drug. Not one doctor will explain the side effects. Nexium is not the gold standard that it is made out to be.

Doctor recommend this to me to hold me over until my endoscopy. I took this in the morning shortly after my back started feeling tingly. I had my sister look and it was filled with hives. I took two Benadryl and it went away about an hour later. I wasn't entirely sure this is what caused it so I waited a day didn't take it then took it again. Same reaction plus itchy mouth. It's unfortunate as my GERD is really bad and this seemed to help a little with the pain and reflux but I can't risk the allergic reaction. Was told to stop immediately by a pharmacist. I'll speak to my doctor about a different medication. To be clear this medication did help my reflux but I believe I'm allergic to one of the ingredients.

Something is not right i need to see doctor again asap

Panic, anxiety, diarrhoea, shaking, chills, exhaustion, brain fog, muscle pains, abdominal pains, lightheadedness

This is an update, now 1 month today since I stopped taking it. Brain fog, Anxiety and panic went after 2 weeks (I think thanks to acupuncture) shaking stopped at 3 weeks. Now for the last week I feel I have low acid so stopped taking Rennies and Kefir. Still can not eat any fatty foods so it is egg, chicken or fish most days. I was able to start drinking tea again last week after a month of not being able to. My left calf muscle is still a bit sore, like I ran a marathon. Today was the first day I didn’t have diarrhoea and run to the toilet. But still suffering with lightheadedness tiredness and exhaustion - it comes over me in waves a few times a day as opposed to being a constant like it was from day 2 of starting the nexium. I started driving again a week ago. A month ago I thought I would never be able drive again. I try and snack every 2 hours (peanut butter on brown bread) and I find it does help with lightheadedness. I am hopeful that this time next month I will be 100% recovered. So In a nutshell I am defo better than I was but I take it week by week (not day by day) and it is not a quick recovery. Luckily I kept a journal so on my down days I look back to what I was like the week before. That is when I see a difference.

Panic, anxiety, short of breath, extreme tiredness, depression, pins and needles. Bad shaking

Day 6 of this poison. Acupuncture helped release my flight or fight mode I was in since withdrawal but I'm still very tired, very shaky and can't hardly do any tasks. Still depressed. Started probiotics today so am hoping it helps. Stay away from this poison please

Worsened anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, doom feeling, and ectopic heart beats. I can't say definitively that I would not have some of these symptoms without Nexium, but in the 3 weeks I've been on it they've all gotten worse and very difficult to deal with.

My stomach and GERD symptoms do respond to PPIs better than Pepcid, but at what cost? The past three weeks are the most anxious I've ever been in my life. So much so my doctor is starting me on Zoloft. I do wonder if this is all significantly worsened by Nexium after reading dozens of other comments here. Literally convinced I'm on death's door at all times despite feeling fine. Can't shake it.

Anxiety, trouble catching my breath, fatigue and sweating

Lighthead, anxiety, panic attacks, pain in leg, chest pain, shortness of breath (not consistently), fatigue.

Do not take this drug. The side effects are not worth the relief from your discomfort.

The list of side effects are endless, It didn't take me long to figure out that it was the drug as I had taken a different PPI before and the side effects were the same The doctor advised me that this one was safe...well it was a lie...a few days late I felt like I was dying I can't even drive anymore I have panic attacks while driving, can't exercise because I feel Dizzy all the time as if I am going to fall I have been to ER twice and all bloods were normal except Iron that was low The Migraines are massive they don't even respond to any pain killer Also suddenly I can't even drink a mere Panado ,30 min later my heart will be pulsating like crazy I react to every medicine I drink I suddenly have high blood pressure which spiked In one day and I know I am a healthy human being...I would run 8 km a day I am currently taking Magnesium as well as Ferrous Forte as I knew from past experience that PPi affects your body's ability to absorb these... they have helped me previously and It takes almost 3 months for the drug to get flushed out your system So I am basically taking each day as it comes A good Alternative for stomach problems is Alkaline powder daily it helps neutralise stomach acid

The reason I think it's Nexium, I was taking it a few months ago and ended up in hospital thinking I was having a heart attack but after stress test all good with heart. Stopped taking Nexium 2 weeks ago but still having side effect

Anxiety, panic attacks, severe depression, fear of nothing, brain fog

Was going through something, got better then began taking the generic version, esomeprazole because omeprazole was not strong enough. Within a few weeks, I woke up one morning in a constant panicky state. Brain fog, can't see anything besides the depression and fear of absolutely nothing. The panic only gets worse as the day goes on, and gets so unbelievably bad at nighttime that suicide is an attractive option. It feels completely chemical, and I've been working with a psychiatrist to help me figure out what medication I am taking that is causing this. I used to love the nighttime. Now I dread it. I've been off it for 8 days and I feel some horrible emotional withdrawal happening. If anyone can tell me how long it took them to feel normal again, please email me, as I feel lost.

Extreme fatigue and tingling all over my body.

This med was too harsh for me. I'm checking with a surgeon about hiatal hernia and will be trying Pepcid in the future. Not worth it.

I had bad heartburn for 3 days straight so my doctor prescribed Opramezole. After 2 days I would wake up lifeless with high fever and rapid heart rate. I was shaking and lost so much weight which I can't afford as im under weight anyway. I felt I was becoming a skeleton but they told me it's just anxiety so I persisted. After a week I could not bare it anymore so they changed it. Put me on Nexium and over 4 days my symptoms as followed: Right eye blurry with black spots floating in both eyes, severe vertigo, arms cramping in agony, lost feeling in both legs and my mum had to help me walk, chest sore, waking up sweating fever chills and panic attacks, too scared to sleep. Severe nausea stopping me from eating, twitches and loss sensation in hands/fingers, delirium and depression, brain fog and loss of cognitive abilities. I feel I am dying so I stopped taking it. Im praying I get better and going to try get better with diet changes even though I was healthy to begin with.

I felt mildy dizzy on the low dose. I had went back to the Dr and been given the 40mg dose. This drug is awful. Panic attacks, chest pressure, irregular heartbeat, and shortness of breath. I will not be finishing the 7 day cycle as I am just too uncomfortable with it.
