I had a GeneSight test done and I metabolize this medication normally. I had a couple instances of dry eyes through all the years I was on it where I had to use eye drops and not wear my contacts for a few weeks. Weight gain for sure, but didn't get bad until late 30s (in 3 years went from 115 lbs to 178lbs). Longer to achieve O but 99% of the time possible. Low libido, but depression also resulted in same so not a deterrent from using medication. A positive side effect of its sedating properties is how well I could sleep on it. | When this medication is effective, which it was for the majority of the many years I took it, it put me in remission from depression, anxiety and intrusive thoughts. If an intrusive thought did enter my mind, it would immediately just go right through and not give me anxiety. It was "slippery" instead of "sticky" in my mind and I was able to go on with my day and be productive. I was so happy on this medication, in a good mood all the time, upbeat, optimistic, friendly, sharp. The best version of myself. So far the only medication I have tried that has worked to treat all of my mental health conditions. The only anxiety I felt was situational (big test, interview, presentation, etc) and it was manageable, which was a huge improvement from the constant tension, worry and uneasiness I normally feel unmedicated. When she started menopause she started acting kind of crazy which is not uncommon. Instead of getting her hormone replacement this Pill pusher prescribed Paxil. I found out later why doctors give crazy ladies or going through menopause Paxil instead of hormone replacement therapy is because HRT lowers the risk of, ovarian, cervical and uterine and cancers. HRT also makes crazy ladies not crazy. Women have anxiety at four times the rate of men and is generally due to hormones. HRT also prevent osteoporosis in the medical mafia makes a ton of money treating osteoporosis with more dangerous drugs. Her withdrawal was absolutely brutal. The pharmaceutical criminals don't call it withdrawal, They call it discontinuation syndrome. This is an evil drug produced by evil people and prescribed by evil people. It's all part of an evil industry commonly referred to as the medical mafia. It's called the medical mafia because when it comes to disease and suffering they extort it to satisfy their insatiable greed. The only protection patients have are class action lawsuits by greedy lawyers. None of the criminals involved at his corporations ever even get arrested. I waited a month and tried it again, but I had the itching again. After I took the patch off, the horrible itching continued for about 2 hours. It was so bad that I laid down and poured Alcohol over my stomach. I had scratched so hard that there were scratch marks all over my stomach. The burn from the alcohol wasn't as bad as the itching. The third month I started to take my pill at night. Suddenly I started feeling as if the medicine had left my body and I am taking it again. The old side effects of the cheeks muscles spasm are back stronger, adding to it the neck( back and front) muscle contractions non stop and stiffness sometimes due to the continuous contractions. After a period of two months, the cheek spasms disappeared but the neck still their and they gradually and slowly subsidising. It is almost 9 months suffering from this side effect. I don't want to change meds cause I had very disaster experience with the previous ones.
