It was great in the beginning now that I'm due for my second shot things have drastically changed in my mental health status. All of a sudden stuff is bothering me more then it ever has. I used to just brush it off but now I can't get things out of my head and obsess over it. I'm very aggited crabby have a attitude snotty lippy a real bia! emotional roller coaster I'm a mess. It seemed to just happen within the past month about 8 weeks in. I'm not the person I was and hate this feeling. I will not be getting this again. So I tried it after my second baby. I began to have mood swings and irrational thoughts. It caused really bad problems with my marriage. I felt off, like I had poison in me. It's hard to describe. But I was afraid to take it again. When I stopped 3 months ago, that's when the heavy bleeding, sharp lower back pain, periods every 2 weeks, headaches, severe fatigue, foot pain, loss of appetite, depression and continued irritability and irrational thoughts. I tried going on the pill but it made me almost kill myself. Probably because the depo was/is still in my body. I'm crying typing this. I hope it helps someone. I wasn't able to watch my kids for several days because I was scared. I get rapid heart beats that I can feel through my whole body and feels like I'm dying. I would not recommend this to anyone. I did gain weight but I train a lot and eat a lot I'm not overweight for my height I think it depends on you and if you have any health conditions. I still had a sex drive just not as extreme, lol. But I did get emotional numbness and mood wings but it's so much better for me than the pill which even though it's technically the same thing it just gave me depression, with depo I just do t feel things as much most things just go over my head which I'm grateful for with my mental health being the way it is. When I did try to come off it completely however after 10 years of being on and off I had terrible periods lasting 3 weeks sometimes very heavy as well which is unusual for me I don't know if it's to do with making the lining thicker before because I'd been on it so long, so I tried the pill then and had the bad experience and went back to the depo. | I think every person I've spoken to has different experiences i think you just had to try it | F | 27 | 13 years Unsure 3 m 1X day | 10/20/2020 | 1 | Birth Control | I have been on the depo-provera injection for 2 weeks now (it is due to last 3 months in my system before my next injection). I have tried both the pill & the implant and neither have worked for me personally, so this got recommended. At first, all felt fine, however over the last few days I have felt extremely nauseous, shaky, very anxious & emotional all of the time, which isn't like me at all. I am usually (thankfully) quite an upbeat & happy person, but this has completely ruined my mood. I've spent the last few evenings constantly crying & feeling like I'm going to have a panic attack. I've been searching the internet to try and see if there has been anyone with similar symptoms to me after having their first round, so feel much better now I've found others that have had the same experience.
