| RATING | REASON | SIDE EFFECTS FOR LYRICA | COMMENTS | SEX | AGE | DURATION/ DOSAGE | DATE ADDED |
| 1 | Spinal fracture, severe sciatica | Insomnia, brain fog, forgetting words, dizziness, feeling easily angered (definitely not my usual self), suicidal thoughts, loss of appetite, constant fatigue, intense skin itch. | Staged withdrawal slowly over many weeks has been horrible due to ongoing chronic insomnia. Always been a good 8 hour sleeper and now lucky to get 4 hours broken sleep each night. I will NEVER take this medication again. | F | 70 | 5 months 75mg 1X day | 2/12/2023 | 1 | For anxiety | Lethargy, muscle twitches, more anxiety, depression increased, insomnia, constipation, lack of emotions, detachment, suicidal ideation. | I really hate this medication. I wish I never took it. The withdrawal symptoms are horrible. | F | 47 | 4 months 100 mg 2X day | 9/1/2021 | 1 | Peripheral neuropathy | Brain fog, memory problem, concentration , balance issues , depression and having no interest or enthusiasm in anything, slows my brain processing down , makes me irritable and angry, messed up sexual function, feel zoned out , suicidal thoughts. This all leads to constant frustration. Not sure what to do next but need to find an expert to help me. | The side effects are terrible and for me negate any of the benefits. Side affects are not dose specific. I have become a different person on this medication and would like to wean myself off it altogether. | M | 55 | 3 years 50 2X day | 9/25/2020 | 5 | Diabetic foot neuropathy | Zero side effects. I don't know what the problem is with so many people having suicidal thoughts while taking this medication. Might be an interaction with other meds? I suffer from severe depression and had no problems with Lyrica. Once I ran out of Lyrica and didn't get my prescription filled for 4 days and felt no withdrawal symptoms | This drug literally saved my life. My neuropathy pain was so bad I couldn't sleep, walk or get out of bed. Not only did I have the typical pins & needles and burning pain but a constant throbbing that would ratchet itself up when trying to sleep and felt like I was being kicked by a horse in the bottom of my feet. I would fall asleep for maybe fifteen minutes and then be awoke by a brutal throbbing that would just jolt me. Within the first two weeks of taking Lyrica the throbbing was reduced, by the second month it almost gone and now it is completely gone. The pins & needles are reduced significantly to where I can pretty much just ignore them, the amount the pain has gone down is like going from a 10 to a 2. No burning feeling at all any longer. I'm now exercising and taking long walks. Before Lyrica I was at the end of my rope and had tried everything available, including opiates (that did nothing). I was seriously considering what I was going to do because life was no longer worth living, but now I'm feeling so much hope it's unbelievable. | M | 61 | 3 months 75 2X day | 3/3/2020 | 1 | Nerve pain | Compulsive gambling and drinking. Suicidal ideation. High risk taking behaviour. | Was given this because doctors wanted me to stop taking opioids, which I did no problem. Lyrica has turned me into an animal with zero impulse control and I crave alcohol and risky behaviour. I’m going cold turkey as it is out of control. | M | 44 | 24 days 150 | 2/23/2020 | 1 | Trigeminal Neuralgia | At first it was okay, but after just over a week into taking it (2 - 50mg capsules a day), I realized that I am in a mental fog. I started becoming severely depressed and having suicidal thoughts where I don't remember ever being like that before. I'm so glad I read up on this before taking this too much longer. | I decided to go off of it because of feeling so foggy and sad. Because of it being a holiday week, I was unable to get a hold of my doctor. I called the pharmacist instead and he suggested taking another week and weaning off of this. I can't stand the way I feel so I am going cold turkey off of Lyrica. Yesterday morning had been my last 50mg dose. I'm still feeling foggy and sad, but am not going to put anymore of that drug into my body. I wish I would've read these reviews sooner than just blindly taking this at my doctor's just prescribing it to me. I have neuralgia, but would rather put up with the pain of that than continue to feel the side effects of Lyrica. | F | 48 | 10 days 100 mg | 11/28/2019 | 1 | Sciatic pain | Vision impairment, hearing loss, headaches, memory problems, weight gain, speech difficulties, suicidal ideation, lethargy, | Evil drug that should be off the market. Have been off it for 4 months and still suffering terrible symptoms and side effects. | F | 46 | 4 years 225mg | 8/21/2018 | 1 | All over pain | Suicidal thought unable to sleep weight gain | It stinks | F | 64 | 5 months 200 | 4/24/2018 | 1 | Nerve pain in neck | dementia - suicidal thoughts - aggressive mood swings - tremors - night sweats - nightmares - paranoia - nausea - buzzing in head - exhaustion, just to name but a few! | why hasn't it been taken off the market - there are so many people suffering and dying at the hands of this awful drug, and they won't legalise medical marijuana in UK!!!!! | M | 62 | 8 months 300 2X day | 2/20/2018 | 1 | diabetic neuropathy | Severe suicidal depression | F | 71 | 30 days 30 mg 3X day | 10/2/2017 | 1 | GAD and ADHD | Memory loss, weight gain, brain fog, oedema, palpitations, worsened anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, insomnia, sweating and many more | If I had been aware of how physically addictive this medication is I would never have been willing to try it. Never had a problem withdrawing from diazepam or codine but this stuff is in a different league. It frightens the life out of me that doctors don't know how this drug works, if it actually works or anything about how horrendous the withdrawal is. Avoid this poisonous medication at all cost. It feels like it works to start with but very quickly the negative effects begin. | F | 43 | 7 months 600mg | 8/25/2017 | 1 | Restless Legs Syndrome | Increased anxiety and depression, increased pain, blurred vision, fast irregular heartbeat, severe dehydration, muscle spasms, hallucinations, brain fog, hair loss, difficulty breathing, severe fatigue and insomnia, excessive sweating, crying spells, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, lucid nightmares, loss of appetite, weight gain, loss of emotion, difficulty speaking at times, memory loss, depersonalization | When I first started taking it, I felt like it was helping me, but then it turned on me very quickly. After I stopped taking it, that's when my journey through hell began. I developed the absolute worst uncontrollable anxiety you could ever imagine complete with severe panic attacks. It was so severe that my heart would race and I would have difficulty breathing. I was put in the hospital twice over this drug and was even placed in the psych ward during my second visit due to the fact that I really wanted to kill myself. I also had increased pain. I felt like my body was on fire at certain times. I felt too sick to eat, yet I still gained a lot of weight. I had a lot of moments where I was stuck in a brain fog, which made it hard to concentrate on anything or feel any emotion at all, and I would have difficulty speaking at times and even remembering things. I always felt fatigued, yet I had insomnia from the anxiety and panic attacks. If I did manage to get any sleep at all, I would sleep for no more than 2 hours and have lucid nightmares during that time, then wake with a jolt thanks to the endless anxiety. I experienced scary hallucinations, both visionary and auditory-the most memorable being demonic sounding voices telling me I was going to die. BAN this evil drug NOW!!! | F | 25 | 2 months 50 mg | 7/21/2017 | 1 | Pinched nerve in spine. Disc degrad | Severe memory loss, muscle spasms, suicidal thoughts. Unaware of the world around me. Ie like a zombie. Symptoms similar to dementia. | I had horrid withdrawals. Came off cold turkey after realising, what was the cause of my brain deadness. I had stomach pains. Bad headaches. Nerve pain seemed worse. Panic attacks never experienced before, but coming off was the best thing I ever did despite still in extreme pain. My memory is remarkably better, I'm hoping it returns to normal eventually. | F | 27 | 50 days 200-500mg | 5/29/2017 | 1 | Sciatica disk problems | This drug has ruined my life. I have constant anxiety and panic attacks, which I never had before Lyrica Memory is gone, vision is destroyed. Constant stomach problems, dark thoughts suicidal thoughts. | This drug needs to be removed from the public. It will ruin your life! | 60 | 6 months 300 | 2/19/2017 | 1 | Occipital Neuralgia | Worked really well for the first 2 months. Then the suicidal thoughts and extreme anger started. I took myself off the drug. | Find an alternative | F | 62 | 3 months 150 | 2/5/2017 | 3 | Fibromyalgia | Lyrica caused depression and I was having suicidal ideation as the months went by. I can't believe I didn't realize it was the Lyrica. I thought it was brought on by a stressful event that was going on.Do your research on side effects.I also was ravenously hungry.I am currently tapering off even though it reduced my pain from a 8/9 to a 4/5.My doctor wants to try Cymbalta next. | F | 48 | 3 months 100mg x2 | 12/5/2016 | 1 | Pain in knee | Other than skin rashes and feeling ill if I didn't take it consistently and weight gain, as well as dry mouth and eyes, I developed a great anxiety and anger. I developed terrible suicidal thoughts and Planned this to the last detail. | Suicide caused by this drug is much more common that I thought. I have been depressed in the past but the emotional pain I experienced when on this drug was extreme. Coming off it has also been a nightmare with inability to sleep and feeling extremely hot and cold and nauseous all the time. This drug MUST be banned. | F | 62 | 1 years 75 | 7/12/2016 | 1 | Nerve pain | SUICIDAL THOUGHTS, MEMORY LOSS, AND ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN RELIEF. ALSO I GET MAIL EVERY FEW DAYS TO REFILL. TOLD DOCTOR ABOUT SIDE EFFECTS, HE DID NOT SEEM TO CARE. | May help some people (not me) but should be taken off the market because of harmful side effects. | M | 61 | 21 days 75 mg 1X day | 5/3/2016 | 1 | Chronic pain & migraines | Memory loss, slurred speech, hallucinations, difficulty functioning , VERY Drowsy and sleepy ALL the time, twitching, mental mood changes, suicidal thoughts | Im in a lot of pain but I Feel much better physically & mentally without it! NASTY crap!!NEVER AGAIN!!! | F | 39 | 6 months ? | 4/19/2016 | 1 | fibromyalgia | fatigue, somnolence, dizziness, short-term memory loss, major weight gain, stoned feeling, balance issues, suicidal thoughts, depression, constipation, aphasia, well just about every side effect they list. | I fought 2 doctors for 2 years NOT to take this drug for my fibro. They more or less told me there's nothing they can do for me if I won't try the med. Wish I hadn't! The first couple months I thought I'd finally found my miracle drug --- it really took care of the pain. But required adjusting dosage upwards every 3-4 weeks, as pain soon returned. I would have continued this med if all I'd had was the weight gain. But the other side effects make this med intolerable. If you're on it and want off, taper down very slowly. It says on the Rx-info insert to taper off for a minimum of 1 week, which I did. HA! I'm going through hell now that I've been off it completely for only a few days: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, alternating hot and cold flashes, anorexia, insomnia, severe anxiety. It's been my experience that doctors just don't know how to deal with fibromyalgia --- so they throw poison at it and hope that what doesn't kill you will make you feel like a new person. I expect to see TV ads for "BAD DRUG" on Lyrica, as I have recently seen for another fibro-poison, Cymbalta. I've already tried the "drug of last resort," Savella: caused BP to spike (never had BP issues prior) and was of very little help for the pain. So, at a time when I should be enjoying retirement, I'm now an invalid. If you're smart, you won't let anyone talk you into even trying this drug. | F | 61 | 4 months 100 3X day | 12/19/2014 |
