It does leave a nasty taste. Just hope it kills the virus! | F | 58 | 2 days 2X day | 2/28/2023 | 3 | Covid | Where do I start? Cant eat, dizzy, tremors, horrible diarrhea, headache. Feel horrible. Im supposed to. take it another day. Afraid not to. I will Never do this medication again. | Did lessen symptoms but not sure its worth it. | F | 58 | 5 days 2X day | 1/13/2023 | 3 | Covid | I can't tell if this drug is working. I feel a little better in one way but worse because of the side affects. The most horrible taste in my mouth has been so horrendous and painful. Couldn't sleep at night because of it. Stomach pain, diarrhea, headache. Can't decide if I should continue or not. Worried about rebound. But I don't think I can continue with these horrible side affects. It's just too much agony. | Awful side affects. | F | 63 | 3 days 300 2X day | 12/16/2022 | 1 | Covid | Just a few hours after taking had side effects. Sores on tongue, tongue was slightly swollen, diarrhea, bad headache, terrible metal taste in mouth, heart arrhythmia, chest pain, eye yellowed, eye swollen slightly, and very sore. Heartburn. | Would never recommend this drug and think you give out in different doses. Looked up many reviews and people were getting bad side effects also. Many were young people. Definitely more studies on this drug. | F | 71 | 1 days 1X day | 10/17/2022 | 3 | Shorten Covid symptoms | While my Covid symptoms have improved quickly, this medication and my mental health meds weren't exactly compatible. Not sure if it was the Paxlovid itself, but I have experienced awful headache, cold sweats, queasiness, and extremely vivid, grandiose dreams. My mouth has also tasted like a sack of nickels. Personally, I don't think I was sick enough to need this medication, but listened to my provider. Would I take it again? Probably not. | F | 55 | 5 days 5 day trea 2X day | 7/17/2022 |
(NIRMATRELVIR; RITONAVIR): The combination of nirmatrelvir and ritonavir is used to treat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19 infection) caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus in adults and children 12 years of age and older who weigh at least 88 pounds (40 kg) who have mild to moderate symptoms and are at risk of severe disease that could result in hospitalization or death. Nirmatrelvir is in a class of medications called antivirals. It works by stopping the virus from spreading in the body. Ritonavir is in a class of medications called pharmacokinetic boosters. It works by increasing the amount of nirmatrelvir available in the body so that the medication will have a greater effect. Was approved in October 2023 after being used under FDA emergency use authorization. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)
