2 | Neuropohy | Severe increase in Tinnitus and difficulty hearing. I had to stop taking the medicine. | M | 71 | 1 months 20 mg 2X day | 1/23/2023 | 1 | Depression, anxiety, fatigue | Increased anxiety, agitation, worsening depression, panic, insomnia, nightmares | I never comment on medication but felt I had to with this one. This is by far the worst medication I have taken. Made my depression worse, increased anxiety, nightmares, and gave me insomnia. Was only on it for 11 days and withdrawal from it is even worse, still can't sleep at night. | F | 47 | 11 days 20mg 1X day | 12/7/2022 | 5 | Pain killer | Mild constipation, increased appetite, mild weight gain | This pill is a miracle for me! After suffering debilitating abdominal pain after eating anything, and dropping down to 5 stone 7 in weight, my doc decided to try me on nortriptyline to help. And my oh my has it helped. I was weeks from death if my condition had carried on the way it was, and this pill took away almost all of my pain. I enjoyed food again with no crippling pain afterwards and am now at a comfortable 7 stone in weight and sleep great every night. It takes a good couple of months to get into your system and for any side effects to die down, but they do die down and it really is worth sticking with to see if it works for you. | F | 38 | 1 years 10mg 1X day | 10/16/2022 | 1 | Depression and back pain | Dry mouth, serious depression much worse than I had. Crazy throughts, crying for no reason, stomach pain. Sleep for only a few hours a night. Weight gain. But the worse is the feeling of something bad going to happen. Also seeing things that are not there. | Don't take this drug. I have stopped per my doctor. Been off for 1 full day but wow that feeling of something bad is going to happen is scaring me. I wasn't this bad before the drug. | F | 66 | 3 weeks 10mg 2X day | 12/24/2021 | 1 | Back pain | This is a very bad drug. I have been on it for 3 weeks. Side effects are so scary. Night dreams that make no sense, or very little sleep at all. Depression that rose with every single pill I took. Felt like killing myself or thinking about hurting others. Seeing things that weren't there. Anger and wanted to hurt myself. Things that never bothered me before now did. Even my birds made to much noise I thought. Things stayed in my head i and worried me even though they were done with. | Think twice about taking this drug. I found out it was this after searching the internet here. I take no other medicine. Stopped cold turkey after my doctor said to stop them. | F | 66 | 3 weeks 10 mg 2X day | 12/23/2021 | 3 | Headache | Dry mouth, dizzy | Works good but the side effects are terrible | M | 67 | 5 months 20mg 2X day | 11/15/2021 | 1 | migraine prevention | dry mouth, blurred vision, tingling and numbness on legs, afwul leg weakness- felt like I can't walk, muscle spasms and muscle pain. Absolutely horrible side effects | F | 20 | 3 days 10mg 1X day | 5/4/2021 | 1 | Chronic migraine | Heart palpitations, resting heart rate above 105, recurring nightmares and vivid dreams, anxiety, dry mouth, facial acne, hemorrhoids, constipation | Was on only 10mg per day for 3 weeks and had all of these symptoms. Neurologist had me stop taking it at 3 weeks due to the heart palpitations. Didn't reduce headaches or migraines whatsoever. | F | 25 | 23 days 10 1X day | 4/4/2021 | 1 | Pain | Given this for pain due to multiple sclerosis. It is a horrible drug that gave my the worst headache of my life. 24 hours and my head feels like it's going to burst. Also, extreme tiredness but unable to fall asleep. Hangover like feeling. Never again. | F | 43 | 3 days 10 mg 1X day | 1/14/2021 | 3 | Daily migraines and poor sleep | Tachycardia, "heart burn" (not every night), and very dry mouth within 30-45mins of taking med. Takes me 2-5hrs to fall asleep now, mainly because of the tachy keeping me awake, and more frequent disrupted sleep again. This has increased now over the past 2 months. | Taking it at night. It has significantly improved my migraines and originally it did help my sleep quality (as it reduced frequency of lucid dreaming and nocturnal hallucinations), however now the side effects outweigh the benefits. I believe the original improvements in sleep were due to drowsiness increased after taking it. | F | 27 | 4 months 20mg 1X day | 1/9/2021 | 2 | Neuropathy | Anxious, brainfog, and heart palpitations. | I've taken amitriptyline on and off for the past 10 years for neuropathy. My Dr. suggested nortriptyline because it has less side effects. I'm sensitive to medications that affect norepinephrine levels and I just read that nortriptyline is a more potent inhibitor of noradrenaline between both meds. This explains the anxiety like side effects. It did nothing for my pain while amitriptyline usually starts working after 2-3 days and also helps with sleep. | M | 48 | 7 days 10 MG 1X day | 11/29/2020 | 3 | Chronic migraines | Heart palpitations, tachycardia | I have been taking this medication along with Topamax for about 6 weeks. It has helped my migraines dramatically. However, I recently started experiencing heart palpitations. I seen my doctor and she acted like this side effect would be rare. After reading these comments I know that's not true! Will be coming off this drug ASAP | F | 36 | 6 weeks 50mg 1X day | 11/22/2020 | 1 | Peripheral neuropathy | This is the most horrific medication I have ever taken. I am surprised I stayed on it for so long before I realized that I lost myself. I was a zombie. I lost my balance, couldn't sleep for more than a few hours a night then sit around all day in imy pj's in a daze. It cause depression, acid reflux, vommiting, constipation, flushing on my face, nightmares. | I was able to stop it without too much trouble though some go through bad withdrawals. Bad, bad medicine. | F | 62 | 56 days 50 mg per 3X day | 7/7/2020 | 1 | Migraines | Extreme dry mouth, terrible nightmares, acid reflux, weight gain, and breast tenderness. I absolutely despise this drug. | F | 48 | 1 months 50 mg | 5/3/2020 | 2 | Anxiety | Tightness in chest, pounding heartbeat, dizziness, low blood pressure and fainting. | M | 33 | 4 weeks 75mg | 12/22/2019 | 1 | Abdominal Pain | Serious panic attacks, forgetfulness, extreme tiredness, constipation, weight gain, depression, suicidal thoughts, nausea. Basically, the dry mouth effect is the only thing on the paper from the pharmacy that I wasn't experiencing. | F | 24 | 12 days 10 MG 1X day | 12/8/2019 | 2 | Migraines | This med was a godsend for my migraines however, it has given me the most awful body odor of my life. 5-10 min after I shower (not sweating, just chilling) I smell so bad. It’s so embarrassing. I wear so many layers. I reek. I also have insomnia really bad. I go to bed around 6am every morning and get up between 8-10. I hate it. | F | 31 | 90 days 100 MG | 11/6/2019 | 3 | Migraines | Dry mouth but the worst of all is the insomnia. I used to fall asleep in 10 mnts and sleep 7 hours. Now it takes me up to an hour to fall asleep and it wakes me up all night plus I dream all night so when I wake up I don’t feel I have even slept . I have dark circles under my eyes but I am not giving up yet. The intensity of my migraines are less by 90% but I haven’t been on it long enough to judge if it cuts back on amount. I cry frequently because I am so sleep deprived. I take 10 mg in the morning as it has a stimulant effect on me. | 16 days in and I am hoping when I hit the month mark I am able to sleep as I don’t think I could last longer than that. | F | 52 | 16 days 10 mg | 7/6/2019 | 3 | Nerve pain for arthritis, cervical | Suicidal thoughts on night 12 and a paranoid episode on night 14, those 2 nights are ones I consumed alcohol on | It really helps with the nerve pain from a bone spur in my cervical spine impinging my radial nerve, but this is too much, I just spent an hour wandering around my property with a Japanese kitchen trying to hunt down a non existent intruder, not cool | M | 44 | 14 days 10 1X day | 3/11/2018 | 1 | Nerve pain | Extremely dry mouth, jelly like legs, insomnia, extreme tiredness | F | 24 | 2 weeks 50mg | 1/18/2018 |
