I am a vegetarian and very healthy, yet I was stricken with my family's cholesterol issue. Considering my young age, you'd think this shouldn't be a concern for me yet! My test came back at 387, with an amazing HDL level and very low triglycerides, proving that what I do is great and what my body does on it's own is not! My doctor put me on 5 mg of Crestor and I was tested 1 month later. My number went from 387 to 118. They told me they'd never seen such a drastic improvement. I took Crestor for a year until I could no longer stand the constipation. I'm actually taking this 5mg dose with no effect, and it's working. I was embarrassed to say I stopped taking it. I'm back on it, again no side effects, and my numbers went down. It freaks me out, but it actually works for me.
