Caused me MAJOR anxiety. Something went wrong while I was taking it when I was changing dose from 10mg to 20mg and it caused me to have a severe mental breakdown making me totally suicidal. I was rescued by taking 120mg Duloxotine although it took me one year to stop being suicidal. Citalopram is not safe. DON’T TAKE IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Terrible experience of feeling dizzy, poor concentration - I could barely speak a coherent sentence. Please talk to your doctor about weaning of this medication. The slower the better. No drug is a panacea for anxiety and depression and hormonal changes are especially challenging because you have no control over them. So far it's working well for me with little or no side effects. I gained about 20 pounds on the Lexapro and I'm hoping I don't have the same problem with the Celexa. On the Lexapro I was very tired all of the time and wasn't very a active, this seems to have improved considerably since starting on Celexa.
