They checked me for a hereditary heart condition that runs in my family, but then put me on Celexa thinking that it may be anxiety. This medication helped a lot...I notice that I am not as irritable, it is much easier to draw a full breath, and my sleep patterns have improved (after the first two weeks). However, I used to be able to achieve multiple orgasms with my husband, and I now need extra stimulation to reach one. Still enjoyable, just takes more work. When I was on Prozac, my sex drive was completely gone. On Celexa, I got my sex drive back, but it takes a while to ejaculate. I'm upping the dose soon to 20mg and I hope it helps even more. Anyone who has had issues with anxiety and can't find the right SSRI, look into Celexa. Prozac and Buspar weren't good for me, but this is. I'm also prescribed Ativan, which I haven't had to take as often because of the Celexa.
