| 5 | Frequent migraine headaches | None | This has truly been a miracle drug for me. Within 20 minutes of taking the drug, usually the headache and/or visual aura is completely gone. I've gone from dreading the days when headaches would start and continue for 2-3 days to having the confidence it can be stopped midstream. But I have had something rather strange (to me) happen while on the medication. I usually dissolve the tablet in the center of my tongue, however, after some months of this practise, I developed a 'hole' in my tongue (a smooth spot, with sharply defined edge). ZOMIG (ZOLMITRIPTAN): Zolmitriptan is used to treat migraines. It helps to relieve headache, pain, and other migraine symptoms (including nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light/sound). Prompt treatment helps you return to your normal routine and may decrease your need for other pain medications. Zolmitriptan belongs to a class of drugs known as triptans. It affects a certain natural substance (serotonin) that causes narrowing of blood vessels in the brain. It may also relieve pain by affecting certain nerves in the brain.
