I would rather be dead than go through this again. Day 1: severe chills, severe body and joint pain, slight burning in the region applied. The few bumps I had were already getting little scabs. Day 2. Similar with more burning where applied. Day 3. ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE. My vagina and anus looked like someone poured acid on me. It was excruciating. Day 4 (first day of my 4 day break): kill me! I felt like I was peeing razor blades. I blacked out on the toilet. I had open sores forming. Day 5 (2nd day off): Absolutely kill me please. My open sores have now turned into what looks like canker sores when they're healing (white) and I'm in even more pain. I cannot walk or sit. I take 3 baths a day then cake on alocane. I'm well on my way to killing my liver as I'm taking fat more ibuprofen than anyone should. I hold ice cubes wrapped in paper towels on the affected areas. I seem to be getting worse. Seeing that my rash and spots have now turned into giant white covered sores is extremely scary and disheartening. The only good is, my fever, chills, and fainting have subsided. I'm never using this again. I used as directed and ended up in the worst experience of my life, and trust me, I've experience a lot. ..TAKE THIS OFF THE MARKET.. | F | 35 | 3 days | 7/28/2018 | 1 | GW | Severe burning, a lot of sores, skin color change, bleeding, irritation, body aches, dizziness, joint pain, loss of appetite... everything bad you can imagine! | I think a mistake Dr's are doing is that they don't specify to put an itty biddy amount on the exact wart. You barely feel the cream when applying, but after the second application, it started burning like crazy!!! Few hours later, I started having blisters, cuts, irritation and a weird decoloration of my skin (it looked brown). I treated the area with some antiseptic but it was a nightmare- even taking a shower would make me cry because of the pain. I called my OBGYN and she said that THAT medication is like an ACID that literally eats your skin out (with the intention of "eating the warts"). So, I had to wait for the next day to go to her. Before my visit, I checked myself and it looked like rotten skin!! I had more blisters than the night before, I was having a green discharge out of the wounds and I was bleeding- it didn't even let me walk. The discomfort is unbearable. The Dr was even impressed of how horrible it looked. Besides HPV, I don't have any other STD.. so this is my first time dealing with such painful situation- and it's very depressing. My DR recommended Neosporin in the area, Lidocaine to numb the area, and cold pads. This happened 2 days ago, and I see little improvement... so I hope it can cure soon! Idk if it works or not, but side effects are unbearable. Needless to say I am firing my doctor. Unfortunately I cannot seem to update my original post. I had been advised to used Aldara once daily for 5 days per week for a total of 6 weeks.I had severe symptoms of fever, dizziness, muscle aches and feeling teary. I stopped using Aldara upon my doctors orders due to the severity of the physical wound- the size of a 50 cent piece, even though I had been very cautious to use the bare minimum of cream to a BCC not much larger than a grain of rice. | I stopped using this cream after week 5 and hoped my symptoms would abate- they did not. It has been 19 months since I used Aldara. The dizziness I developed while using Aldara has never totally gone. I also developed tinnitus so consulted an ENT who diagnosed ATYPICAL Ménière's disease. I do not suffer rotational spinning (typical to Ménière's), rather a constant disequilibrium, like having been on a boat too long. It's exhausting and has affected every aspect of my life. I have questioned doctors as to whether this could have been caused by Aldara, all have said no, even though it came on at the same time I was using it. All doctors have said even the flu like symptoms I was experiencing were unrelated to Aldara (they had never heard of that despite it being noted as a side effect!) -that I must have had a virus! In the past 19 months I have spoken to others that have used Aldara. Some who have experienced no ill effects whatsoever, and some like myself who have, in our opinions, had our lives screwed up to varying degrees because of this drug. To others reading this and considering using this as a treatment, consider ALL of your treatment options before making a decision. I thought a topical cream would be a safe, non invasive form of treatment. Every part of my vagina has swelled up and it is completely unrecognizable, it is red raw and when I urinate it is like urinating razor blades. My vagina skin is purple, blue and black. I held an iced pack wrapped in a towel as pain relief and co-codamol which helped slightly. Things seemed to be improving today with less pain but still ridiculous swelling... when suddenly i started bleeding and my skin has burst in places. I cant move/walk. I am so upset because if the nurse had taken the time to explain | Once everything settles down, i will build up the courage to use it in the correct way. It is so frustrating that a health professional has not informed me correctly and it has resulted in this. Its not the kind of medication to just lather on AT all which I thought it was. I was having painful intercourse with my husband and went to the GYN. She did a bopsy and said I have mild vaginal dysplasia caused by HPV. I had no warts or lesions. She prescribed aldara to the area of biopsy/pain 3 times per week for 8 weeks. The only thing she told me was to wash it off after 8-10 hours with mild soap because it can cause irritation. After I had used aldara for 3 applications, I had a severe headache, fever, body aches, and fatigue. I thought I had a virus so I kept using it. After the fourth application, I developed red, irritated raw skin and blisters to my entire vagina and area between my vagina and anus. I had applied at night and sparingly washing off the next morning, but I'm sure it spreads around when you sleep. I could not stand, sit, pee, wipe, or walk without screaming in pain from this stuff.
