I have had this problem with Miralax for 10 years. The Specialist swears by it but who the hell wants to crap every time they pee etc? I weigh 110 lbs, follow a low sodium diet because I don't like salt and have a low PB. The dose you are required to take should be illegal. According to WebMd, it is a rare reaction, along with kidney disease. If the headaches and swelling don't go away soon, the FDA wil be hearing about it for sure. Went to ER and got 3 liters IV fluids, Zofran and Phenergan for nausea, Ativan for chills. Day after colonoscopy am passing brown mucus and twice didn't make into the bathroom in time and soiled myself. | Thought I was choosing an easier prep, since I had no problem drinking this down in 8 oz gatorade over a 2 hour period. Started at 4pm and was fine, bowel movements started soon after my 3rd dose. I didn't start to have problems until after midnight with nausea, dry heaves, numbness and tingling in my hands, dizziness and weakness. Called the on-call doctor twice, first time he told me to try to "stick it out" and the second time he told me to go to the ER to be evaluated. ER staff said they weren't surprised and that they've seen this before. Sorry I chose this prep - friends and family who were given NuLytely in a split dose, half the night before and half the morning of the procedure, had no problems at all.
