| 5 | Hypertension | Diovan is great. The FDA approved generics (Valsartan) that came out in 2014 are horrible. I''m filing claims with FDA/MedWatch. Don't take Camber's generic. It contains sodium & is manufactured in India. | ExpressScripts overcharges for Diovan & Valsartan. They will only give it to me in 2-week increments, even though my doctor writes prescriptions for 90-days of medication. Soon after my Dr.gave me samples of Diovan 160.12.5 hct. to try. Weeks later my nightmare began till today 1/22/17. I have tried different other meds to no avail..but my Dr. Keeps puting me on diovan.(Valsartan) to date I suffer from daily headaches.vision problems.chest pains. Shortness of breath by simple walking or talking. agitation. daily panic and anxiety attacks.brain fog. Memory problems. HUGE digestive problems. Weak legs to the point they just give up. Faint like feelings..(THESE are the worst) crying spells COZ I feel there's no hope..(I'm crying as I'm writing this).Severe reddness and hot sensation in ears, neck and face. and my Dr. Just thinks it's anxiety and gives me clonazepam. LOTS of other effects too numerous to list..I feel im slowly dying. Lots of tests done all normal. CT brain scan.Abdominal scan. Upper GI..Echo Cardio. various blood tests done..ALL NORMAL. Little abnormalities but within normal ranges..currently taking GENERIC DIOVAN (valsartan) But I think the damage has been done to my body by this poison. DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.. | Over the last 10 YRS I have tried the folowing. LISINOPRIL.Atenolol. AMLODIPINE. Metropolol. Carvedolil. And of course Diovan..ALL have caused misery on my body.MY Dr. Keeps saying Donovan is the least with side effects..BUT SHE F-ING WRONG. I feel I'm dying...I have a very young family which needs me..I mean there are days I can't even walk and I have to use a walker.. I'm only 60 yrs. Old and Diovan (valsartan) keeps ruining my daily life. It has affected every portion of my body.I suffer daily "crisisis" YOU name it I've suffered it.and continue to suffer.VALSARTAN makes you think AND feel there's something terrible and very serious going on with you ..but yet to be found..So the patient keeps on searching. Soon this "search" takes a top on you..and then you feel hopeless... And I have pains in my upper abdomen .... emailed the doctor this weekend to let him know what was going on ... my blood pressure has come down since the medication was doubled but this inability to move my bowels really scares me I'm afraid of an intestinal blockage .... I am going to wait to hear back from my cardiologist this week and may have to lower dosage back to 160 mg on my own until I hear from him . Other than this side effect I felt good on it and it did lower my blood pressure . Also take two diuretics Furosemide 20 mg 1x day, and Amiloride 5mg 2x day plus a beta blocker Bystolic 20 mg 1x day! | Prior this I took Ibresartan three times a day and that made me sick and I felt exhausted on it as well as nauseous ... Recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes although sugar control does not seem to be directly related to sugar input rather it is more cyclical. Recently spent the $350 for a 30 day supply of Diovan to see if some of this goes away. I began wondering if Valsartan was doing this to me after this as it's the only new thing in my life. Asked regular doc if it could be hormones or the Valsartan but was told no. Fast forward to tonight and I took my pill around 7:00 pm because I forgot this morning. I was in the kitchen with my kids, having fun, cooking dinner, chatting and all of sudden began to feel weird and, sure enough, by 8:30 I was having a full-blown panic attack. I now know now it's an anxiety attack because I took half of the pill I was given for anxiety by the hospital, and walked around trying to distract myself until it kicked in. Did the trick. Tonight's attack was the worst yet and now I'm 100% convinced it's the Valsartan. I was feeling fine and happy until I took it. Won't be taking it again. The rashes has been terrible. Every doctor I saw would just say there were so many things that could cause the rashes ( eczema & psoriasis). I’ve been having Light Treatments on my hands because I wanted a treatment that didn’t involve steroids all the time. I saw a NP and talked her into changing my Meds. She was hesitant but after my crying spell she agreeded. She did give me a steroid shot because my excema was so bad. Two months has gone by and I’ve not had to do my Light Treatment or put drops in my ear or used steroid cream on my face. Also sleeping very well and not waking up itching all the time.
