I am wondering, though, about all the increased incidents of acid reflux, intestinal problems, pancreatic and stomach problems that have been on a substantial rise ever since 1996 when Monsanto started marketing their GMO grown corn and soybean products. The GMO means genetically modified, which means that a pesticide like roundup was placed into the gene of the corn or soybean which would cause an insect's stomach to explode if they ate the food. Soy and corn are used in nearly every food product we buy. Doc prescribed PPI to take for a month until stomach nerve grew back. Tried Zantac, did nothing. Then tried Prilosec, which worked but it gave me such bad insomnia I was a walking zombie. Next Prevacid, which also worked very well, but the side effects are more extreme. I take it in the morning, and after 45 min, the fatigue hits like I took a sleeping pill. As soon as I eat breakfast, get horrible nausea like I'm going to be sick, stomach cramps, and then running to the bathroom. By the evening, almost doubled over in pain from the stomach cramps. It does not give me insomnia, but I will take the insomnia Prilosec gives me over Prevacid's miserable side effects. I gave it almost 2 weeks to see if side effects would go away, and they did not. Unfortunately cannot try any other PPIs as my insurance does not cover them, even if I've tried other meds.
