| 1 | Vaginal yeast infection | Racing heart, rash on legs, with like blood spots under skin-appeared today, headache, anxiousness, upset tummy, diarhea, loss of appetite, sleeplessness. Overall. I feel like sh*t! Very scary actually. I avoid pharma drugs, and am sensitive to most. But, monistat over the counter did not work, so went to Dr. She gave me 14 day prescription! Read here 1 dose can work? She gave me 14 days! I am done today, and will never take again. For all of you out there, take a high 50 billion live pro-biotic to offset drug side effects. It works. I started vaginal estrogen tabs 3 mos ago & believe infection a result of that, as I have not been on birth control, or HRT for 20 years, & have never had an infection since. Gonna up my pro-biotic from once a day to 3x for next week, & go back to yogurt poultice! I was prescribed it again and about an hour after I took it my lips became very itchy and red, and even around my nostrils became itchy. I then felt like my blood was boiling in my veins. I was also taking an antibiotic at the same time so I thought it was just a rare fluke. 6 months later I needed to take Diflucan again and the exact same things happened but this time I wasn't taking any other medication so I knew it had to be the Diflucan because I've never experienced them any other time. I didn't want to chance it and take it another time in case the side effects become even worse so I let doctors know I have an allergy to it. They've all seemed a bit shocked that it could cause those side effects. I'm relieved to read other people here have had similar reactions and it wasn't just "all in my head". | It works great for many people but some may have weird side effects that aren't listed even after they've taken this drug without problems in the past. I woke up in the morning same exact spots ,swollen lips twitch tingling and now very chapped on my skin in the same exact spots looks like rug burns for lack of better words. I have no idea if they changed something or what. I was working in a grocery store when I broke out in hives on my face and around my lips, at the time I was trapped behind the register and my lips itched not knowing they were hives i scratched the area around my lips with my teeth. The whole outside of my mouth was dark and covered in scabs, I had hives on my cheeks and forehead even a few on my arms. At the time I thought maybe this was a mix with the antibiotics, fast forward a year later I was in the hospital for super high blood sugar so the doctors prescribed this again while I was on stay, the same exact rash started within hours of taking it. I'm not sure if it's body chemistry or manufacture changed something but I really wouldn't recommend this to anybody. An anti fungal should not have such server symptoms you end up in the hospital for a one day dose. This time around I first started taking nystatin and it gave me racing heartbeat and just feeling like crap so I called and they switched me to diflucan and now I feel worse. I'm tired and lightheaded(so I'm assuming my blood pressure is low), my nose and my mouth are so dry, I've lost my appetite, and I get short of breath when I'm doing too much(assuming because of the low blood pressure again). I hope I never have to take this ever again. I do have a doctor's appointment later today I'm wondering what she's going to say.
