| 1 | acid reflux, heartburn | Anxiety, a tight feeling in my chest, constant bloat and gas, an overall ill feeling, irritability, depression, hot flashes, lack of sex drive (male), sudden floating pain in my arms, legs, joints, etc, acne. I took the 14 day course, and did not start getting the symptoms until about 7 days in, I continued taking it for 3 more days before putting two and two together. I honestly had convinced myself that I was having heart problems. I've stopped taking it for a few days now, and I'm starting to feel gradually better, but I'm still not back to 100% as of yet. | It has worked great for others in my family for the same problem I'm having, without all the side effects. I sat in on a sales seminar for Pharma Salesguys, and it is only a few molocules different, only to get past patent expiration, and has no real differences from an efficacy perspective. Don't waste your money on Nexium and the marketing hype. I took Provacid for two years without any problems, until my perscription ran out and I thought I would try Prilosec OTC. What a mistake! Prilosec is a bad joke. I've been off it for over a week and my legs still don't feel back to normal yet. If I know then what I know now, I NEVER would have tried Prilosec! I was on Zegerid which is basically Prilosec X 2 with sodium bicarb mixed in. Symptoms seem to have lessened after going back to Prilosec. I don't know what I'm going to do to get rid of the pain (vague diagnosis came after an endoscopy this week; awaiting biopsy results), but I can't function on Prilosec, that's for sure. | The patient package insert should mention this side effect.
