1 | Seasonal allergies | I had two very scary episodes of heart palpitations in the middle of the night after taking this medicine before bed. Like, gym-shoes-in-the-dryer pounding, for many minutes...not just a couple of off beats. Super scary. Then, I've found it interesting to read about tooth and gum pain as I've experienced that as well as headaches, sneezing, dripping, weight gain, etc. Seems steroids and I don't get along! Will not continue this drug. | F | 59 | 2 months 2 squirts 1X day | 1/23/2024 | 1 | Allergies | Anxiety and nausea. I believe this drug gave me an ulcer, which caused severe nausea for a couple of months. Very bad situation! | Would never recommend this drug to anyone, especially someone with a sensitive stomach or adrenal issues. | F | 50 | 8 weeks 30 mg 2X day | 9/30/2023 | 1 | sinus inflammation and obstruction | Brief relief in sinus symptoms far outweighed by anxiety, elevated heart rate and blood pressure, headaches, racing thoughts, poor sleep. | Sprayed in each nostril 2x once a day | F | 34 | 15 days 55 mcg 2X day | 9/30/2023 | 1 | Allergy congestion | Increased heart rate, chills, fever, sore throat, tremors, bruising, anxiety, bad taste, nervous, insomnia, worse congestion, etc. | I will never take this again. This is horrible medicine. Stopped talking immediately 3 days ago and still having side effects. Do NOT take this. I do Not recommend. | F | 2 weeks 2X day | 3/3/2023 | 1 | Sinuses swollen and infection | Lose of smell and nose burns when I breathe out of it, altered taste, bad diarrhea and stomach issues, loss of appetite, dizziness, ringing in ears, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, and insomnia. | My Dr recommended this over Flonase and said to take 2 sprays in the nose 2 times a day, and now I regret taking it. Im glad I came across this while googling the side effects for this nase spray. No wonder I have been feeling horrible for days. Will be stopping this and hoping it leaves my system soon. | F | 5 days 2X day | 12/31/2022 | 1 | Seasonal allergies | Severe anxiety that I didn't immediately connect with taking Nasacort. My doctor prescribed Prozac around the same time and I stopped the Prozac thinking that was what was causing it. Nope. I am fine in the morning till I take the Nasacort and this morning I finally connected the dots and looked it up... and found this. I will never take this stuff again. | F | 53 | 21 days 1X day | 11/27/2022 | 1 | Post nasal drip, ear fluid | Pounding heart, chest tightness, neck stiffness | I started taking based off of my ENT suggestion for my post nasal drip that was causing my ear pain and fluid buildup. It had immediately helped my ear fluid build up and that felt better. However, after the first week of taking it I noticed many unfamiliar symptoms. I am a very healthy 26 year old with no past medical history. No allergies. I ended up going to urgent care twice for shortness of breath, feeling like my chest was so tight I needed to rip my shirt off. Also started having terrible neck and upper back pain. I had to sleep with heating pads and lidocaine patches for a few nights figuring i moved the wrong way. But again, I’m a healthy and active 26 year old and have never had this happen before. My vitals were very normal (BP 111/59, HR 55, O2 98%). I had an ekg, chest X-ray, and blood work done, all normal. I was frustrated feeling like something must be very wrong. Luckily I started digging and found this website. I will be stopping this medication today, hoping this is the problem. Nothing else has changed (no new, or any for that matter, medications, no new foods/drinks, or lifestyle changes). Would not recommend. | F | 26 | 3 weeks 1X day | 10/18/2022 | 1 | Allergies | I have had sever weight gain, rise in blood pressure, rise in anxiety, depression is worse, insomnia, heart palpitations, worsened sleep apnea. | My non-medical advice is to not take it. | F | 48 | 4 months 1X day | 9/28/2022 | 1 | Congestion | I have never been so irritated in my life even the fan that was running irritated me. Made me very snappy and picked fights with everyone, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, very bad anxiety, depression, you name it , it happened. I'll stick with my navage, also could hear my pulse in my head, dizzy and nauseated ! | F | 38 | 0 weeks I spray 1X day | 9/28/2021 | 1 | Seasonal allergies | Started having weird arrhythmia. Worse in morning and evening. Achy throat, as if muscle pull. Chest tight and difficult to draw deep breath. Irritability. Very acid stomach. | I usually use Flonase but have tried nasacort in past, so I picked up a bottle a month ago because it was available. Never again. The light finally went on in my head that the frightening pain in throat and palpitations might be from this stuff. Glad I checked here! Thank you everyone who reported heart trouble with this med, because otherwise I'd never have suspected this could happen. I've had AFib and don't want any more heart trouble. I would never recommend it to anyone. Dangerous garbage. | F | 67 | 10 days 55 mcg/spr 1X day | 8/18/2021 | 1 | Nasal Congstion | Extreme anxiety and agitation. Moodiness. Low energy levels too. Racing negative thoughts. Increased anxiety should be listed on the box. Nasal congestion improved but these side effects are not worth it! | F | 36 | 3 days 1 X D 1X day | 4/12/2021 | 1 | Sinus Congestion | Blisters bleeding sores in my nose with extremely bad headache and stiff neck. Burning sensation in my throat and chest and anxiety. This was recommended by my doctor to help with sinus congestion from a virus. I stopped it 3 days ago and still have bleeding sores in my nose. | Would not recommend without knowing ALL the possible side effects. | F | 52 | 9 days 55mcg 1X day | 12/7/2020 | 1 | Nasal congestion, seasonal allergies | Shortness of breath, palpitations, nausea, vomiting, extreme anxiety, shivers and insomnia. | First and last time using this terrible medicine that it doesn't includes any warning against the possible side effects. | F | 62 | 1 days 55 mcg x 2 1X day | 11/19/2020 | 1 | Seasonal allergies | Within fifteen minutes of using product, experienced anxiety, shortness of breath and rapid heart rate. Several hours later, the symptoms have subsided but not completely. | After experiencing symptoms, I immediately research side of effects of Nasacort and found that my symptoms were common. I would rather deal with seasonable allergies than to use Nasacort. | F | 71 | 1 days 1X day | 11/10/2020 | 1 | ALLERGIES | Horrible! Relieved allergy symptoms, but caused anxiety, pain over kidneys, shortness of breath, abdominal bloating, high blood pressure, anger, hair loss, weight gain. | Side effects are very common. This steroid DOES enter your system, regardless of what even your Dr. may tell you. Many people have serious side effects that last well after you stop using it. This should not be available over the counter. I've been an RN FOR 33 years. I know what I'm talking about. | F | 60 | 7 days 2 sprays 1X day | 9/17/2020 | 1 | flem in throat. | brain fog, anxiety, cant focus on anything. Especially my eyelids and my cheeks. Called Nasacort's number and reported it. The woman on the other end said, "Oh, I've heard that one before." I will not be taking this again. My doctor concurred. | F | 55 | 1 days 55 mcg 1X day | 7/29/2020 | 1 | Allergies | Severe panic attack ... landed in ER. After weeks I still Was experiencing anxiety, panic attacks. NASACORT (TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE): This medication is used in a variety of conditions such as allergic disorders, arthritis, blood diseases, breathing problems, certain cancers, eye diseases, intestinal disorders, collagen and skin diseases. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of triamcinolone, especially if it is to be injected near your spine (epidural). Rare but serious side effects may occur with epidural use. Triamcinolone acetonide is known as a corticosteroid hormone (glucocorticoid). It works by decreasing your body's immune response to these diseases and reduces symptoms such as swelling.
