| 1 | Quit smoking | It started out excessive energy the first day, followed by angry outbursts. The next three days I experienced a horrible toothache, gum irritation and inflammation, swelling in my throat and face, swelling in my arms, loss of appetite, no desire to move, and dizziness. I also felt like I was out of this world, really zoned out. | This is the first method I tried to quit smoking, and I will never touch another drug like this again in my life. The only drug I will use is good ol will power. The possible side effects is just not worth it. Even after discontinuation the inside of my mouth is still healing. I am taking 10 tylenol 1's a day, and it is still not taking away the pain fully! | F | 22 | 4 days 150 mg 1X day | 1/27/2011 | 5 | to quit smoking | nausea, occasional carnival ride type feelings (especially while driving) the shakes, insomnia (not that it really matters because you have so much energy getting sleep doesn't seem important) sweating | my dr. put me on wellbutrin at the time i was diagnosed with asthma because that obviously meant i had to stop smoking. i have been taking it for 5 days, and this is my second day on the 300 mg. i noticed a difference almost immediately. by the third day of the lower 150mg dose i was in a great mood and getting lots done. i am assuming i will level out at some point, but the first day at 300mg felt a bit like what i would imagine speed to be. i didn't know i was depressed, but suddenly i am so happy and have so much energy that i am kind of realizing i am. cigarettes and food: i totally feel like i could take it or leave it. i have zero cravings for anything and feel like i am making better choices in general. tonight i was like 'hm-- should i have an oreo?' and rather than marching right over to the oreos my next thought was 'nah'. i am extremely nauseous and have had to choke down something to eat more than once in the last two days to try to relieve it. food doesn't taste the same and i'm not hungry even when my stomach is growling. if not for forcing myself i wouldn't have eaten anything since taking 300mg/day. i haven't weighed myself yet (got tired of trying to lose weight and tossed my scale) but i have no doubts that its doing just that. the leaves are literally greener. i experimented with a lot of drugs in college but never pharmaceuticals and this is my first experience with antidepressants-- this one is kind of awesome. | F | 30 | 5 days 300 mg 1X day | 6/22/2011 | 5 | Major Depression | Insomnia | I originally took Wellbutrin XL, 300 mg a day about 3 years ago and it did wonders then, so after a year I stopped taking it. Unfortunately, my depression came back, so I am back on Wellbutrin Xl, 300mg. Despite the same side effect of insomnia, I know it will go away in a few weeks, as it did the first time. I truly believe in Wellbutrin XL over anything else. I have had no other side effects, and my mood, energy level, focus and a positive outlook are all creeping back into my life. For anyone interested in taking it, I totally recommend it, but give it a try for at least 2 months before deciding against it, as it doesn't fully work for about 4-6 weeks. I've had a slight headache each day since taking it but everyone around me is having sinus issues due to the weather so it may not be related to wellbutrin. I did have to take pseudo ephedrine to help my stuffy head on day 3 I notice slight constipation but definitely not as bad as I was on Tramadol. A metal like taste in my mouth, decreased appetite (the best side effect ever!) I've had stomach cramping on and off but nothing worth noting. | 13 years ago, I was on effexor for approx. 1 year. I was tired, achy, unmotivated etc... I was a mess and effexor only kept me from wanting to kill myself. One day my coworker gave me Tramadol and from that moment and 13 years on, my life was transformed. Tramadol allowed me to get off Effexor and live a happy and productive life. Tramadol was my MIRACLE drug. It cures my depression, fatigue, concentration/focus, anxiety/motivation. Tramadol makes me WANT to work and WANT to do things. Since the feds have decided to target Tramadol, my insurance has made it difficult to fill. I was forced to seek an alternative. 2 months after I stopped taking my Tramadol I started to experience depression and anxiety. Everything started to stress me. On tramadol, the world could be on fire and I'd remain positive. My depression slowly started to creep up on me. I knew I had to get back on antidepressants. I started to research antidepressants that give energy and I stumbled on wellbutrin. Today is day 5 and although it can't hold a candle to Tramadol, I have to say it's a great alternative. I take Kratom along with my wellbutrin. Kratom alone didn't seem to do much but now that I take wellbutrin, WOW! As of yesterday, day 4, I've felt alert and calm/happy. I got a lot of work done yesterday, something that only happens when I take tramadol. My brain fog is gone, i can focus on my tasks and the things I'm too lazy to do get done.
