| 1 | Ulcer | Severe mouthwatering, mild nausea, stomach upset, intestinal cramping, diareah | Tried for 2 days but by day 2 the mouthwatering/ nausea lasted all day then the cramps and diareah began. Dosage schedule very inconvenient for trying to keep food in stomach, no food 2 hr before or 1 hr after made empty stomach stretches too long and worsened by sour stomach with constant watering mouth. I'm extremely fatigued, I have nausea, chills, and stomach cramps. I don't know if this is from the Carafate or the AciPhex (since I started both at the same time). I currently take three to four tablets a day depending on what's needed. I noticed worsening nausea when first starting Carafate so took only 2 times a day instead of 4 times as prescribed. By day three epigastric pain was really bad, eating felt like I was swallowing rocks, and after eating I would get very strong nausea waves and what felt like cramps in my upper and lower G.I. My pain was so much worse on day three of the medicine and nausea so bad when attempting to eat that I decided to stop taking it and the next day the pain was much lower and was able to eat without nausea. I really think I have an intolerance to this medication and I feel better without it.
