During delivery, my heart no longer beats excessively, mouth doesn't over salivate, throat doesn't get tight, voice doesn't shake while speaking, face doesn't get red, and can actually speak without freaking out anymore. Usually take it about 30 - 60 minutes before speech or presentation. However, I do get slightly light-headed, and feel fatigued a few hours after taking it. Also have noticed an increase in weight gain. Of all the drugs I have taken (and I've been on prozac since 1993) to control my depression and horrible pervasive anxiety, besides the prozac, Inderal has been a wonder drug. I know I'm off the bell curve here, but of trileptal, ativan, xanax, clonipine, cymbalta and, god help us, modafanil at $10 a pill, this cheap ancient drug has helped me more than anything. I take it PRN, 10-20 mg one to three times a day, and I feel calm and rational. I think it is best for people who have very high resting sympathetic tone (those of us who sweat, yell, and think that 5 days is way too long to wait for a gun permit).
