| 3 | Polycythemia Vera + HIV | Diarrhea - Headaches | I was put on this as the only other "alternative" was phelbotomy once to twice monthly. I know that for me as a HIV plus patient the chances are not so good with this medication but I could not go to the hospital every two weeks owing to my profession and having to travel a lot.
