1  To stop ovulation and ovulation pain Nausea, vomiting, Headache, extreme breast pain and tenderness Headaches and nausea progressed and got worse day by day until I just decided to stop taking it 7 days in. I literally had to pull over on the side of the road puking for 5-10 minutes. My breasts feel like they have electricity in them 24/7 and I keep having random shooting shocks of pain. I'm nauseated every morning for at least 2 hours after waking. I've left a message with my dr to change my medication. I have my tubes tied but I have ovulation pain so I have to take something to keep me from ovulating. F 37 7 days

2  Contraceptive Horrible nausea and mood swings. I had cramps for over a week prior to my period. I never experienced cramps like this. My normal 4-5 day period lasted almost 8 days. My appetite is through the roof. F 34 6 weeks
2  Regularity I was switched to Estarylla due to insurance coverage and the name changed. I have taken Sprintec/previfem before this medication. The side effects of this medication have been the worst. My review is similar to others I have read, and luckily Iím going to my doctor tomorrow to get switched back to the brand! First off, I never really had acne growing up. The most I would normally get is a pimple or two once and while but would go away within a week. Since starting this medication, I have had large areas of pimples that do not go away even with prescription medications for it. I never had large patches of acne especially on my cheeks and chin then did not go away on their own. Another side effect Iíve been having is terrible mood swings/depression. Sometimes (usually the week before my period) I find myself crying for no reason, anxiety and over thinking everything, and just not feeling myself. I also have had headaches more. All of these symptoms seemed to have started after the brand of my birth control was switched to Estarylla. Iím going to try to switch back to what I had before! F 23 5 months
3  Irregular Bleeding Continued irregular bleeding, tired, acne This worked to immediately shock my body after having bled for three months straight. I actually lost weight. But I was very tired, the longer I took it the more emotional I became, and eventually I started bleeding irregularly again. Wasnít horrible, but didnít do what it was supposed to do for me. ESTARYLLA  (ETHINYL ESTRADIOL; NORGESTIMATE):  This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: a progestin and an estrogen. It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It also makes vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization) and changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body. Besides preventing pregnancy, birth control pills may make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, decrease your risk of ovarian cysts, and also treat acne. Using this medication does not protect you or your partner against sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia).   (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)
