| 2 | Nausea from Levaquin | My physician prescribed this to me to combat nausea from strong antibiotic to treat diverticulitis. After I took the first dose I felt a switch flip in my brain. I became depressed and angry and cried on and off throughout the day. When my husband came home I was boiling angry and said mean things to him. I think I may have been having an allergic reaction to this drug. With my 3rd pregnancy I was prescribed 90 25mg tablets of phenergan per month but only took about 60 per month. It helped me to eat regularly with that pregnancy. My 4th pregnancy I had it much much worse and they gave me 25mg rectal suppositories because I could not keep anything down at all before I got the medicine in my system. It would allow me to be able to swallow my other medications that were taken orally and it also helped me to keep down an ensure and some sprite throughout the day to avoid being given tpn. I took it so much around that time i didn't notice any drowsiness or anything. I have gastroperesis so I am prescribes phenergan for that but I rarely take it (I mostly take my zofran) because it now causes me to be very very tired. I will feel worn down for at least 12 hours. My body will feel heavy and it seems that I would almost rather vomit or feel somewhat nauseous than so drowsy and tired. It also makes my skin feel hypersensitive and at times I can not get comfortable. The way I describe it is bugs in my spine. It's a horrible feeling. I got this feeling much worse in the hospital when they gave it to me through my iv. I noticed that if they give it to me through my iv and mix it with a small bag of fluids and administer it piggyback it doesn't work as quickly but I don't get as drowsy all of a sudden.
