3 | Raging UTI | I will be finishing my Cipro tomorrow, 2/25. I had a raging UTI from not emptying my bladder when I should. Lesson learned. I have felt stoned on this medication since day one. I felt exhausted but that also could have been from the illness itself. I do not have the infection anymore but my brain is still fuzzy. Dreams!!! Every single night, in color and extremely vivid. And they are very happy dreams. So, I sure hope this is all I get as a side effect from this med. I am a nurse and know about the side effects but haven't really gotten any from Cirpo til now. I took it over 20 years ago and this would be my second time. I know medicine is a double edged sword. You can take the med... but it will cost you in one way or another as in side effects. Any drug we take has some kind of potential side effect. It's a gamble. I felt taking the drug outweighed my hesitancy bc of the side effects. I have been lucky thus far. CIPROFLOXACIN IN DEXTROSE 5% IN PLASTIC CONTAINER (CIPROFLOXACIN): This medication is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for virus infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
