1  Urinary Tract Infection Tremendous indigestion and constant nausea. I also had muscle weakness, tiredness, increased urination, slight ringing in the ears, headache and possible bruising on my skin. Made by Northstar RX LL. I was given this for a Urinary Tract infection. However, the side effects were so severe that I had to stop it. I starting taking Cranberry tablets (purchased at the local health food store) instead. CEFADROXIL  (CEFADROXIL/CEFADROXIL HEMIHYDRATE):  This medication is a cephalosporin-type antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections (e.g., strep throat, skin and urinary tract infections). It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.   (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)
