3 | dental pain | slightly nauseous, less if I took pill with some food; racing heart especially at night after the first week | I was prescribed 400mg, 3x's day for 10 days after developing a reaction to amoxycillin. The erythromicin cleared up the tooth infection, but I stopped taking it after the increased heart rate at night. | F | 54 | 7 days | 5/10/2008 |
E.E.S. 400 (ERYTHROMYCIN ETHYLSUCCINATE): Erythromycin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent certain bacterial infections. Erythromycin is known as a macrolide antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats or prevents only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
