I experienced some insomnia and increased fatigue. On my current 10 day treatment for toe infection I am having increased ear ringing, increased neuropathy, and insomnia. If you have ever had even the slightest anxiety in the past I would stay clear of doxycycline. The attack lasted a couple of hours which is a lifetime when experiencing it. It finally subsided and had my doc switch me to Levofloxacin 500 mg with no problems. Last, I had an EKG done at ER when during the attack and the attending physician said it was abnormal. On the drug I experienced some headaches, nausea, and fatigue and insomnia. But the intense side effects happened AFTER I stopped taking it. This is day 7 off the drug and I am still having headaches, buzzing in my head, reduced appetite, GI issues and extreme fatigue. Afraid there is nothing to do but wait this out. I doubt any doctor will acknowledge doxycycline is the cause of my issues.The symptoms are similar to how I was feeling with the sinus infection yet different, especially the brain fog, pressure/buzzing in the head, and extreme fatigue. Anyone else found something that has alleviated side effects? I've been so irritable and anxious, I chalked it up to being tired from a road trip but after reading the comments, it seems as though it could be a side effect. I am so tired but I feel like I can't sleep.
