I also experienced anxiety and extremely severe depression / dangerously suicidal thoughts, while on it. I have taken this drug many times, but had not noticed this particular side effect, in the past. I am often depressed - but, this time, Keflex seemed to worsen it, markedly, and I was suffering very severe depression (I would describe it as a extremely dangerous level of depression, where i was actively contemplating / planning suicide). I think it was probably exacerbating my existing low mood, and simply making it much worse. Since I have stopped taking it, my symptoms have abated. | It did work very effectively and quickly to clear up my UTI, but I would be extremely cautious about taking this drug, if you already suffer from depression or anxiety (and even if you don't), as I believe that taking Keflex 4X/day for 2 weeks definitely worsened my own condition, in that regard, to a severe level. Make sure you are being monitored, if you suffer from mental health problems. Take it with food / eat probiotic yoghurt, as that helps with the stomach issues, and don't lie down, right after taking it, as that makes the acid reflux/GERD worse - I think that was why I ended up with esophagus problems this time (due to taking it at midnight, before bedtime, then lying back down too soon).
