Because of the nausea I have a lack of appetite. It has also caused cystic acne during the time of my period. I constantly get migraines and they have got worse over time. At first, this medication was"god send." It managed my cramps and significantly reduced my period to the point I stopped getting it after two years. As a teenager, I had a few episodes of mild acne (like any other teenager) but never had ACNE. My face has been terrible since the first month of this drug. Furthermore, it has reduced my libido, changed my personality, caused significant anxiety, BV/ yeast infections, the list could continue. I would not recommend this medication for more than 1 year of use. I work in the medical field and have had doctors tell me it is not possible for birth control to cause anxiety or any of the other symptoms I'm experiencing. If you are reading this and you do not feel well, stop this medication now. Please. Your doctors will not guide you otherwise. The hair dresser asked if I was undergoing chemotherapy. Root to tip and by the handful. Probably about 40% of my hair loss in 3 weeks. This is an HIGH ANDROGEN birth control. I was totally unaware but it makes sense if it is low in estrogen. If you have a history of hair loss in your family, pcos, or severe acne this is not the birth control for you. I finished the month today and will be stopping. Don't be too discouraged if this was a nightmare for you. I'm not kidding when I say Lo Loestrin Fe is the worst thing to ever happen to me. I gained 45 pounds over the time span of my high school career. My freshman year of high school I weighed 130 pounds and I have been a twig my whole life and have always ate as much as I desired. While taking this birth control I gained so much weight (very quickly) that there are stretch marks all over my body! There were no changes to cause this except my birth control, but I stayed on it because it was helping my skin and my periods. By the time I was a senior in high school, I weighed 175 pounds (heaviest I've ever been in my life!) This made me so upset, that I was like “screw it” and I finally quit the dang birth control. It has been about 9 months since I quit the birth control and I am now in my spring semester of my freshman year of college, and I weigh 135 pounds! I know for a fact that it was the birth control that made me gain all of that weight! After being off of it now, my acne is still very manageable and my periods are not as bad. Please, I beg of you, if you don't need birth control DO NOT TAKE IT! Especially not Lo Loestrin Fe. Do not make the same mistake as me.
