1  Type 2 Diabetes Severe nausea, vomiting, no appetite, constipation 3+ days, lethargic,. Did not use 4th dose due to side-effects and woke up with half my tongue swollen to the roof of my mouth. Could only drink water. Clammy, sweaty, then freezing. I do not think the side effects are worth any benefit I may get. Waiting to call doctor this am. F 50 3 days

5  Diabetes Constipation, nausea I have used Victoza off and on for 3 years, but finally consistently the last 6 months. I had to stop all the other times because I felt so horrible with nausea, vomiting, etc. This time I decided to take it at bedtime instead of morning, and WOW big difference. I also started really low and only went up on the dose when I no longer had any side effects (other than constipation). I really can't take any more than five clicks beyond 1.2, so that's what I do. I have lost more than 50#, got off insulin, and dropped my A1c from 8.4 to 5.1. I wouldn't attribute it all to Victoza, because I have done the hard work, but it makes me feel full and that is a big help in reducing intake and managing my blood sugars. F 53 6 months

2  Diabetes Type 2, Weight loss Constipation, eggy burps, nausea, indigestion, vomiting, stomach cramps In the first few weeks, my appetite shut down completely and so did my cravings. Blood sugar dropped below 100 after about 2 weeks. The only side effect I experienced was constipation which was manageable. I attribute any weight loss to eating a proper caloric deficit, which I was already doing before the medication. About 6 weeks in I started to experience the foul burps, then within 3 days I was constantly nauseous, vomiting, cramping, and still constipated. None of my food was getting processed. It's warm and fuzzy at first, then it bites you hard. Never touching this stuff again, praying I haven't done any lasting damage by taking it. F 30 6 weeks

2  type 2 diabetes I was eager to try this medication to help my blood sugar in use with my metformin and lantus but was more eager because I heard it helps you lose weight. Well I've lost 44lbs and I yes that's a wonderful thing but the horrible side effects that got me there is almost not worth it. Nausea, vomiting, no appetite, and now I think extreme dizziness. Even had to go to er. Gotta talk to my endocrinologist asap BC I am getting to the point of almost passing out. I thought it may have been a different medication but it seems to be the victoza. Victoza has multiple side effects which affect some people more than others. Just wanna let y'all who experience bad side effects that you are not alone and if its really bothersome then maybe you should really get on something different F 22 6 months

1  diabetes Look at rating #6, how this drug every got approved for human use If anybody ever looked I'm sure they would find a trail of money from pharmacy company to someone in fda looking at ratings here sadly people think this is a new diet weight loss drug guess if you can't restrict your diet and don't mind getting cancer this drug is for you Come on people you have all the info online now please look before you leap pharmacy company's are spending millions to prompt you to try there new meds and making billions because you go to your doctor and ask for them! Do some research on avandia they had to pay a 3 billion dollar fine on that one because they didn't tell all they knew on it (they lied to get it approved) They should start there comericals with hey you might die from it but you'll look good in your coffin! 60 1 days

4  Weight loss Ive read all the reviews on this site before I started the medication. So all the ones who give the bad reviews on VICTOZA,I SMH BECAUSE WHAT PEOPLE FAIL TO REALIZE IS THAT WHEN YOU DONT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS, YOU WILL GET SYMPTOMS!!! Duh!! My diet has been the same except I began adding more Protein so what I eat was never a issue.I began Invokana which I love to help with A1c.That came down 7.4 from a 9.2 within 3 months. First week on Invokana I lost 6lbs but thats it! My weight went up. So Im 280 lbs now. All Im worried about is the fat.I started Victoza this past Thursday. I took it before I went to bed. About 20min later I became extremely sleepy and gasy. Friday I took it in morning, same sleepiness/gasiness. Saturday upped my dose to 1.2 as per Dr.Only thing I have is the sleepiness thats it! I can tell Im losing , just dont know the lbs yet. Ill weigh myself monthly. I will see how i do and will update my progress periodically on my weightloss. F 32 4 days

4  High insulin. Weight loss Dry mouth is the most predominant side effect... No headache I LOVE NOT HAVING THE SUGAR CARBOHYDRATE CRAVINGS. When I increased the dose on day 7, to .9 I got diarrhea and nausea -- I'm going to try to stay below .9 as long as I can. From reading posts here it seems like the appetite and cravings return after a few weeks. Taking the shot 15 minutes before a light well rounded breakfast with PROTEIN works best for me. Staying hydrated is a must-- seems to keep the nausea away. I'm also taking a fiber capsule daily and probiotic F 58 10 days

2  Type 2 Diabetic A1C over 9.0 Tolerated Victoza at 1.2ML but 3 month A1C was not much better. Doctor raised dosage to 1.8 ML now have intestinal issues, BGL not much better and feel weak and tired all the time. For the money this drug does not improve my diabetic life to a point a feel its worth the side effects, risks and improvement in A1C levels. I would not recommend to anyone who does not see big improvements within a few weeks and can tolerate the side effects. M 51 5 months

3  Weight loss First week I started taking it major headaches, extreme nausea and extremely fatigued, severe depression. Lost 15lbs in ONE WEEK! Had to stop taking it for two weeks (unfortunately gained the weight back) then tried it again. So this time I have loss of appetite and some nausea but nothing major but I've had a headache for a week and nothing will take it away. I have lost 12lbs in two weeks but I'm going to stop taking it again because of this headache I can't get rid of. I guess that's what I get for trying to lose weight the easy way :( If you're taking this just to lose weight, don't use this. The whole point of losing weight is to be and feel healthy and I just do not feel healthy anymore being on this medication. F 28 2 months

3  Lower a1c and weight loss Nausea for the first few days got better, I loss 15 pounds in the first two months, no additional weight loss. I stopped using Victoza . I went for a physical when I first started victoza my physical was great . I shared with my dr that I was afraid to take victoza because of my family cancer hx. But I tried it for a few more months went back for a follow up visit to find out I now have thyroid nodules scheduled for biopsy will never take this drug again, so angry at myself for going against my own judgement.
