Honestly, it's like a life saver! My pain was constant, intense and debilitating - and it's basically gone. Cymbalta began working for me right away. I gained 20 lbs on top of the 15 i gained on effexor. I also had night sweats, which were more severe on the effexor but continued moderately with the cymbalta. I went immediately from cymbalta to wellbutrin with no weaning and did not notice any severe withdrawal symptoms, but i was sick and extremely depressed for the first 2 or 3 weeks after discontinuing. However, i was also withdrawing from an herbal drug and beginning the wellbutrin at the same time so it is impossible to know which, or if all, of these factors were affecting this. | Overall, i am 100 times worse after both antidepressants than i ever was before them. My doctor decided to put me on Cymbalta said that depression and anxiety go together and then that we could try this medicine. With my Cymbalta they added Xanax I started taking Cymbalta and it seemed to help because I couldn't feel anything it was almost like I was numb to the anxiety and the panic attacks. I thought that was a good thing until I started not caring about things that I should have been caring about. I tried five times to come off of Cymbalta but always went right back on it because of the side effects coming off of it was so hard. I finally said I didn't want to go through this stuff anymore. I didn't want to not care and not feel. I have a 13 year old daughter and for the past 11 years I have not care about anything, before I got on the Cymbalta I was happy with my child and my life it was only the panic attacks I didn't like, after being on the Cymbalta I become very depressed and did not want to do anything .I knew that it was the Cymbalta that it was making me feel this way so I started weaning myself off by taking the beats out of the capsules. I'm down to 20 mg now and I'm going to go down to 10 and then 5 and I hope to be off this medicine .I feel like this medicine has robbed me of my life of 11 years.
