3  ADHD Nausea and dizziness if I forget to eat with it. VICIOUS mood swings and bitchiness if I miss a day. Otherwise no issues yet. I am not at my full dose yet. I should be on a higher dose but I am afraid of the heart risk, as I do have mitral valve prolapse and history of heart murmurs. Normally when I miss it does I just have nausea the next time I take it, but I am three months in and I realized that I'm forgotten to make my appointment to get it refilled so I skipped a day so that I would have enough to last me until my next appointment. Except but now I am dealing with extreme mood swings, mostly irritability related, and my spasms in the left side of my face. I lost two friends tonight because they did not understand it to my mood Issues were due to my ADHD. It is frustrating to explain to people what happens when I do not take my medication or why I am dealing with this. F 32 3 months

5  Adhd Mostly dry mouth and had some fatigue when I first started this dosage. This was a welcome change to my constant insomnia. My anxiety is a quarter of what is was before and I can finally focus. The biggest side effect I have had is I now have a very high sex drive. My husband is obviously not sad about this since it was the opposite before I started strattera. F 35 3 months

4  ADHD extreme tiredness, insomnia, nausea, heartburn It's really not as bad as these other comments are saying, it takes getting used to as there is an adjustment period. Whenever I upped my dosage I would suffer lots of side effects but they go away with time. At first I did not notice a difference because the effect is nuanced, but on days where i've missed medication i've realized Strattera actually helps me quite a lot. my mind feels way calmer on it. side effects can be very annoying though.  2  Traumatic Brain Injury Not only do I have ADD & severe anxiety, but I suffered a mild traumatic brain injury brought on by a car accident. The first day I took this medication (40mg) I started having stomach pain in my upper abdomen. I took tums but the feeling was not relieved. My bowels immediately locked up, I was constipated and throwing up on & off for the next week. I even poured out some of the capsule and tried to take less but the side effects remained! I didn’t notice any extra energy from the medicine, however, I was able to tune out sounds and bright lights that always bothered me before. Whatever pain I had in my body was reduced and that is the only reason I gave it a chance. After 9 days I let it go, the side effects were not worth the minimal benefit and I was afraid it would cause damage to my stomach lining. F 33 9 days

3  Inattentive ADHD So Tired! This is my second, going on third day taking the medication. I feel like there are moments throughout the day where I'm focused but the tiredness over takes the ability to focus. It almost like I'm hyper focused on how sleepy I am. I'm going to keep taking it for the next week and see how things go. I've heard that eventually side effects go away (like drowsyness) and that it takes time for the meds to work. I like the fact that this isn't a stimulant but I also really want that instant gratification too because my ADHD has really been taking a tole on my work/at my job. If anyone had tips or helpful information they'd like to share please email me your tips! F 24 2 days

2  ADHD Nausea, head tingles, insomnia with sleepiness, dizziness, sensitivity to sound and light I tried it yesterday, I took it around 8 a.m and here it is 12 pm the next day and I still feel the effects. I tossed and turned all night last night. I got really sick about 3 hours after I took the capsule and from there, things went down hill. I couldn't eat, I had double vision, slight vertigo when standing. It was intense, I'm not taking it again! F 33 1 days

5  ADHD Nausea, sweating and headaches I actually take 25 mg in the morning and 18mg in the afternoon. This stuff quieted my mind. I am now in college and can stay focused on what I put my mind to. It does make me a little jittery and has increased my anxiety but the Dr. gave me Buspar to counteract that. The nausea and the sweating are the worse. I tried a lower dose and felt totally un motivated. F 58 2 months

2  ADHD (inattentive), General Anxiety Irritability, Decreased appetite, Dizziness, Heartburn, Hypertension, Nausea, Mood swings, Shaky hands, Weird dreams, Dry mouth, Fatigue, & more?? My brain feels foggy; I feel like I'm constantly trying to figure out what I'm going to say or do next instead of saying or doing anything. I feel like I'm thinking so much, I'm just as much, if not more unproductive. I feel like I'm overthinking every little thing to the point where the most insignificant obstacle is stressing me out. I've been pissed off since starting it, without reasoning. I've been annoyed with my mom, friends, and my significant other with no cause. I've cried five times within the passed 24 hours. I haven't been able to eat a meal since I started it, and I can not afford to lose weight. It all just feels so ridiculous to go through all of this when it's not helping & could even be worsening the problem at hand. How long until it actually will improve my attentiveness? F 17 3 days

4  ADHD Will sometimes give bad nausea if taken without food, other times it won't. Sometimes I can't go to sleep and have to take several melatonin gummies. The dry mouth with this is insane, make sure you brush your teeth often and drink lots of water. Have no appetite with this at all, all foods taste weird like tinfoil, blea! So loosing weight due to this; a good thing for me. Woo I am so much happier on this, I'm not sure if it's helping with my adhd yet but not acting like the witch of the west is really nice. I'm so mellow now. :D I don't feel life life sucks any more. I can even get a few things done like the dishes or ocasionaly remember to check my messages. Not a huge difference for my adhd but great for my mood. I'm so much less: Rooarrr! And more: Hugs 💓 I hope this works more in a couple of months if not will try a higher dose. Note: I have severe ADHD super bad. My hyper activity as a child drive my family insane and I'm am female. O.o I swear it's like I have a different kind of adhd.... every other person Ive met with it seems so much more calm then I am. I finally found my "off" switch; strattera. 😄 F 3 months

3  ADHD inattentive Excessive sleepiness Hot flashes/flushes DRY MOUTH After 8 weeks, I'm wondering if Strattera is effective. I never had nausea or headaches (thankfully),even on an empty stomach. The sleepiness is annoying, but I do have more mental clarity and I feel calmer. I thought I would be more focused at 8 weeks, but I'll give it more time. F 43 8 weeks

5  Fatigue, ADD, narcolepsy Slightly decreased libido I had severe head injury in 2009: For me, the most prominent brain damage is that I hardly understand verbal langage (like orders); I had 1 MG Risperidone single-dose lobotomy in january 2011, as I could no longer control my adrenaline... When I finally remembered "why I accepted 1 MG Risperidone lobotomy", I managed to enter a readaptation program. Mainly, I did use Concerta-18MG and Modafinil-100MG for several years, but I slowly grew insatisfied with the side effects : Concerta was great for verbal comprehension, but I did not had hyperactivity in the first place so... (especially since the Risperidone single-dose lob...) Modafinil affected my speech and short-term memory too much (no more social life). In january 2016, I stopped medication and ENJOYED the first four seasons of Walking Dead: I finally realized Concerta and Modafinil were too zombiifing... (I did tried Vyvanse for 3 months in summer 2017 but it was the same issue than with Concerta) : The only good side effects of Vyvanse is that I managed to find out the real reason I got the Risperidone lobotomy in 2011 : I was mixed with an homonym alcooholic drug dealer... After I got my medical file corrected, I got back to school and seek for a real psychiatrist : I'm on my fourth day with 20 MG on the morning. It's the best drug I ever tried ; I feel myself for the first time in ten years! My memory is so much better! Is there a catch? Will I be a zombie if I stop the treatment in 2 year M 35 4 days
