4  Menopause Mild nausea, headache, aching calfs, bloating, eased with time the longer I used side effects faded Works pretty well for me, there were side effects at first but that's to be expected with time they become less, aching calfs never went, hot flushes completely went away, I don't think anyone should expect hrt to completely cure all menopause symptoms, and not all hrt work the same for everyone I hated the patches especially estradot made me very unwell, but others think it's great, it's very individual and trial and error, but on the whole estrogel works best for me F 50 5 years

4  Menopause Stomach cramps, headache, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, pain aching cramping in calfs vaginal thrush Started estrogel 7 months after hysterectomy, retained my ovaries but surgery caused them to fail, I had the above side effects but most wore off the longer I was on it, I liked it was easy to use and better than a patch, but unfortunately the insomnia got worse pains in my calfs never went away but I could live with it, but I was constantly getting thrush, comfirmed with swaps done by gp, I literally couldn't live with the thrush, so unfortunately had to swap to patches which I don't like as much, shame because the gel worked so well for hot flushes and anxiety 48 1 years

2  For hot flashes and night sweats I am in perimenopause and also suffer from hypothyroidism. I was experiencing headaches, irritability , hot flashes and night sweats in October . My doctor prescribed the estrogel (1 pump) with 100 mg of progesterone. It took all of the symptoms away within 3 weeks. A few weeks ago I noticed some blonde facial hair. When I called the pharmacy the pharmacist said that the estrogel will stimulate hair growth . Has anyone else experienced this ? Is there another product that you would recommend? I don't want facial hair! F 52 90 days

4  Low energy and mood, menopausal Initial breast tenderness- taking 1 utrogestan a night too Excellent- from the start I slept better, the progesterone tablet causes sleepiness so take at night, the gel I use 2 pumps in the morning, don’t rub it in just smooth over inner thigh, my mood is better, I’m not so tired and tearful . You are only putting back in your body what natures taken away. Some people need to up the dose and certain negative effects will go. It’s help with dryness and I don’t have achy joints now.  4  Anxiety, depression, hot flashes It is hard to say because I felt so low, so achy, tired and emotional with hot flashes. Anything I occasionally now feel could be put down to the illness combined with the fact I also have hyperthyroidism. This product combined with one a day progesterone tablets. This has worked well for me, I was prepared to try anything and give it at least 3 months now I'm educated enough to know thyroxine was not a quick fix. It takes time. This however took a week, hot flashes stopped, sleep and mood improved. I am starting to feel more myself. More confident, less brain fog. I am terrified to go back to how I was feeling and I am so appreciative that we have this medication. F 47 7 weeks

4  2 Yr post op Hysterectomy Menopause Pulse a little up and down at times but early days. Dry mouth achy calf muscles not sure if these are related more to menopause in general or not or need more time. So much easier than patches coming off. I just felt much better in myself after first 2 weeks. Less depressed. I feel this is absorbing into me better. Lost 4lb quickly that wouldnt budge. Im sleeping better and not as brain fogged at work. F 48 32 days

ESTROGEL  (ESTRADIOL):  This medication is a female hormone (estrogen). It is used by women to help reduce vaginal symptoms of menopause (such as vaginal dryness/burning/itching). These symptoms are caused by the body making less estrogen. When treating only vaginal symptoms of menopause, products applied directly inside the vagina (such as this medication) should be used first. Estrogens that are taken by mouth, absorbed through the skin, or injected may have greater risks of side effects due to more estrogen being absorbed.   (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)
