Panic, dry skin, mouth, eyes. Loss of taste and smell for 3 days. Skin rash 3 days. Icy hands and feet. Sore joints and tendons. That was the first days. Later came liver intoxication. Lost 10% of my weight in 2 months. Panic attacks lasted several weeks but sporadic than god. Heart beat disorders, high blood pressure with just one coffee one month later. Burning feelings in forearms and legs lasted for months. Still appear now and then . Now one year later : heartbeat disorders started again recently. Back pain started. After 4 months. Within 30 mins I had severe itching on the palms of my hands. Then it started to itch on bottoms of feet. Within the hour my face blew up twice its size. Began to turn bright red on face & neck. Got hives all over. After taking 2 benadryl my throat was starting to close, my voice changed and my ears and face were so red they were starting to turn purplish. When I got to the hospital, my blood pressure was 180/110 and heart rate of 125! My blood pressure is typically in normal range. Even after the benadryl, prednisone & atarax I still have excessive itching and hives. I felt like my skin was on fire but from the inside. By day two my heart was racing and I found myself breathing very shallow. I told them all of the side effects I was experiencing and that I thought I was having a bad reaction. They took my blood pressure (I don't remember what it was) and my o2 saturation was 65% my heart rate was 210 bpm. The doctor ignored my idea of a bad reaction and said that the infection was moving into my chest and that's why I couldn't breathe. Since I also have asthma, the doctor gave me two breathing treatments and sent me home with a prescription for prednisone a steroid I have been on before for my asthma. He told me not to stop the antibiotic. I started taking the prednisone immediately. It took a few days for my breathing to return to normal, the joint pain and tremors still haven't stopped. After I finished the prescription for prednisone, hives showed up. They completely cover my head, neck, shoulders, and back. There are a few on my arms, legs, belly, chest and hands. The doctor tells me to take Benadryl and they should go away in a few weeks!! To me this drug is dangerous! It causes so many crazy things to happen even more than I have described. Be very careful if you ar | M | 29 | 10 days | 11/30/2011 | 1 | Bronchitis | About one hour after taking the first and only dose, I began feeling like I was burning from the inside out, my heart was racing, I was sweating, and I was panicky. I took a Xanax and calmed somewhat. This resulted in a visit to the ER with an EKG and chest x-ray being fine so I was sent home. The second day (I did not take the drug again) I had milder episodes like this followed by periods of extreme lethargy and some disorientation. On day three I had a severe panic attack again and ended up in the ER again. An EKG and blood work were good. The ER doctor said she never prescribes Avelox and that I should feel better in another day or two when it is out of my system. The next day I had another severe attack and saw my family doctor. He said it could be the combination of the Avelox along with the Albuterol inhaler and Hydromet and said to stop all but to continue the Xanax 3/x per day and also prescribed Trazodone to help me sleep. AVELOX (MOXIFLOXACIN HYDROCHLORIDE): Moxifloxacin is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. This medication belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for virus infections (such as common cold, flu).
