To this day I have never had a reaction to any medication...of any type.... except the 1000 mg of Niaspan...which I chose to no longer take. Reactions can become so bad it can interfere with your personal life.Taking it at bedtime can sure ruin a nights sleep if you awaken with a reaction....sometimes I was ok until as long as 5 hours after taking it...then pow...it hits you all at once! Hot sensation on sole's of feet. Have been taking 2,000 mg daily for 3 years. Initially took Aleve Naproxen 30-60 minutes before Niaspan to reduce flushing. Stopped Aleve 2 years ago and flushing is tolerable without it. Due to results of last blood test, dosage was reduced to 1,000. Not sure yet if reduction was result of positive or negitive Lipid Panel results. Needless to say I'm very happy to be able to take less.
