5 | bipolar | diarrhea | this med has been great for curbing my highs and keeping me out of my lows | M | 26 | 2 months 200 mg 1X day | 1/26/2021 | 1 | Bipolar II | I took this drug about 7 years ago and now I have random muscle spasms all over my body throughout the day. Consumer Beware! | M | 3 months 1X day | 1/22/2021 | 5 | Unipolar depression | Mild somnolence and insomnia. Anxiety at the beginning of the treatment | The only med that helped with depression for me, after taking several antidepressants. Side effects are very tolerable and transient. | M | 54 | 2 years 50 mg 1X day | 1/15/2021 | 3 | panic attacks | really no side effects in the 1 st week, im un the middle of my 2nd week, some itching although its winter and i get dry anyway. A little gassy, and bloated to the point i feel like i gained 10 pounds | Buspar for me was the best without any side affects, but Lamictal is better than Prozac, but i am loosing my hope with anxiety medications. I am still nervous, very nervous, and hope i get better soon. | F | 43 | 12 days 2X day | 12/30/2020 | 5 | Anxiety | Works great with no side effects which I can’t say about any SSRI I’ve tried. For me much better then several SSRIs, Buspar, aglomelstine, and gabapentin. | M | 66 | 1 months 25 | 12/18/2020 | 4 | bipolar | bloating/stomach cramps, intense pins-and-needles sensation all over body at random intervals, sleep disturbances | I've taken this drug on and off for a few years now. Just started increasing my dose and finally made the connection between my at times debilitating pins-and-needles, with this drug. It's tricky to do simple things like unbutton my pants or make the bed, let alone drive or perform work. It never goes away for more than 24 hours unless I am totally off the med for a few weeks. It seems to happen most often at night, which is around the time I take the medicine- maybe I should ask my doctor about going to two smaller doses twice a day? Could this be a withdrawal symptom as it happens near the time i should be taking my next dose, or is it from the med? | F | 24 | 3 years 100 1X day | 12/1/2020 | 1 | Anxiety | Dehydration, dry mouth, some itching, gas, | Trying to get off it, | M | 55 | 7 months 100 mg. 1X day | 11/20/2020 | 5 | Bipolar 2 and Depression | May be developing a serious rash. Will know when I see the doc tomorrow. | M | 52 | 15 days 25 mg once 1X day | 11/7/2020 | 5 | Bipolar 2 | Lethargy, mental slowness while titrating up. No side effects once stable at a therapeutic dose. | This drug has saved my life. | F | 42 | 16 years 200mg 1X day | 10/23/2020 | 1 | seizures | memory loss, intrusive thoughts. I keep going over and over bad experiences including the car accident (50 years ago) that gave me severe head injuries causing these seizures. My 1st doctor had no empathy. Wouldn't take me off!! I have a new physician and hope she will prescribe a new drug. Lamictal takes care of my seizures but not worth the side effects | I also have depression and loss of co-ordination. | F | 67 | 8 years 400mg 2X day | 10/19/2020 | 1 | Major Depressive Disorder/anxiety | Extreme thirst, dry skin, vaginal dryness/discomfort, dizziness, always tired, nausea, indigestion. | Absolutley not worth it. I somewhat tolerated 25mg, but as soon as I went up to 50mg, side effects became more detrimental than the depression and anxiety. 3 weeks of withdrawal has been absolute hell. | F | 29 | 4 weeks 50 1X day | 10/8/2020 | 4 | Bipolar Disorder/PTSD/Anxiety | Itching, slow thinking. | It has helped my mood swings significantly as well as the anxiety. | F | 51 | 2 months 100 1X day | 9/30/2020 | 4 | Seizures | Everything listed above that everyone else is talking about I thought a lot of it was from my traumatic brain injury which it is probably but the memory loss is severe the long-term but the short-term seems worse weird crazy crazy nightmares and dreams dizziness headaches I'm not losing my hair like other people are but let's see I just can't remember everything well my teeth are starting to go really bad that's actually why I Googled it and found this site I wanted to see what other people were talking about their teeth and my Visions bad cuz I only have one eye after the traumatic brain injury but my good I also is gets fuzzy it's kind of messing with my vision but anyway I appreciate everyone else's input makes me feel better that I'm not alone | I almost want to stop taking this medicine to see if the side effects go away cuz I can't gain weight neither | M | 55 | 0 years 200 mg a d 1X day | 9/29/2020 | 3 | Epilepsy | F | 33 | 6 years 100 2X day | 9/27/2020 | 1 | Seizure | Hair loss, weight gain, insomnia, acid reflux, chest pain and headaches, most of all anxiety | Has horrible side effects | F | 45 | 6 months 200 2X day | 9/26/2020 | 2 | Mood swings | Severe memory loss, confusion, difficult time concentrating, spelling difficulties, horrible night sweats, weird vivid dreams that I wake up screaming. | F | 32 | 4 weeks 100MG 1X day | 9/20/2020 | 1 | Epilepsy | Terrible stomach problems that have continued even after I've been off of it for as long as I was on it! Gastrointestinal doctor found damage to my esophagus, stomach, and upper intestines. My stomach still bothers me. Pretty much any food and working out causes acid reflux. The bloating all the time is awful. I really hope it heals and I'm not permanently affected by it! | Crap medicine! All epilepsy medication is crap! | F | 40 | 6 months 200-400 1X day | 9/18/2020 | 2 | depression | severe memory loss, confusion, hard time concentrating, night sweats, my head feels hot from the inside at times, ringing in ears.. i have had the memory problems for about 6 years but is much worse now, I would love to talk to someone with these symptoms.. it is bad | F | 57 | 8 years 150 1X day | 9/2/2020 | 2 | Currently | At first, I felt worse, then I felt better, and now I feel worse again. I am super agitated, I get anxious again, I run my mouth and I cannot stop sometimes, I feel angry a lot, and I get so hyper to the point of crying because I literally cannot calm down. It is like it helps the constant mood swings in a way, but it also makes them worse. I have developed intrusive thoughts as well, which I have had before..but not this bad. I do not cry anymore and my depression is gone, and so are my other mood swings, but I get mad so easily now and I get super hyper to the point of feeling sick. I have not been able to get ahold of my doctor. I am wondering if I should taper myself off until I can get ahold of her. I am only on 25 MG once a day, and I was told that 25 MG is not even that high of a dose. So, I am not too sure what to do now. I do not like how I have been feeling lately. | It works and then it does not. I do not get it nor understand it. | F | 27 | 2 months 25 MG 1X day | 8/10/2020 | 4 | Bipolar type 2 | Weight gain. I was prone to that anyway but I have less motivation now to deal with it! More skin problems (dermatitis etc) But it has made me a better person, better mum and I no longer suffer terrible depression. I'm also much more sensible and rarely ever drink now (Lamictal hangovers are not worth it!). | Everyone is different. Give it a go and see if it helps. | F | 43 | 8 years 100 mg 2X day | 8/2/2020 |
