But I've suffered from very poor sleep for many many years, and sleeping pills and melatonin have never been of much use in this regard. With Indomethacin, however, very quickly noticed that my sleep improved, sleeping more deeply and without waking during the night. In the morning, do not feel groggy or hungover. The impression is that of relaxing my brain, rather than sedation. For me, it is a revolution of my everyday life. So the score of 5 is as an insomnia treatment, despite inability to improve my gout. INDOMETHACIN (INDOMETHACIN): Indomethacin is used to relieve pain, swelling, and joint stiffness caused by arthritis, gout, bursitis, and tendonitis. It is also used to relieve pain from various other conditions. This medication is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking your body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. This effect helps to decrease swelling and pain. If you are treating a chronic condition such as arthritis, ask your doctor about non-drug treatments and/or using other medications to treat your pain. See also Warning section.
