| 1 | Mid-Cycle Ovarian Pain | I have been taking Loestrin 24 FE for three years at the direction of my GYN to reduce mid-cycle pain in my ovaries. The mid-cycle pain is gone, but it has been replaced with heart flutters and strange palpitations, occasional bouts of feeling depressed, heightened anxiety, headaches, dizziness and a low sex drive. I have made the decision to stop taking this birth control pill after carefully looking back at my symptoms. Today is day 6 off the pill and my headaches are intense and my vision is off a bit, leaving me with a faint feeling of dizziness, almost off balance. I am going to stay off this pill, and drudge through the after effects as my body rebalances my hormones. Like some of the other reviewers, I too have gone to a cardiologist. I had heart imaging and stress testing done, and, thankfully, all is structurally fine. Nevertheless, the palpitations and flutters continue, and to my mind are connected to taking this hormone pill. I love this pill, I've never been pregnant, my periods are no more then 3 days long now. Luckily the weakness lasted only 2 weeks or so. I've had a much lighter period with minimal cramps, which to my delight ended in under 3 days. However since starting the pill I've needed at least one short nap a day - my brain feels sluggish after 5-6 hours of activity. I think this can be corrected with increased exercise though. What bothers me most is the bloating, which is almost daily occurrence either when waking up or immediately after meals.
