5 | Asthma | Shakiness | I'm allergic to other rescue inhalers and this one has worked wonders for me. | F | 28 | 5 days | 9/10/2007 | 5 | Asthma | Can't recommend the smell/taste -- has a petrochemical whiff about it, and I have the distinct impression that sucking on a diesel exhaust pipe wouldn't be much different -- but the stuff works, and any unpleasant sensory experience probably just helps guarantee you won't take it except as needed. | M | 46 | 1 years | 9/1/2006 |
ALUPENT (METAPROTERENOL SULFATE): Metaproterenol is used to treat wheezing and shortness of breath from lung problems (e.g., asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchitis, emphysema). Controlling these symptoms can decrease time lost from work or school. Metaproterenol is a bronchodilator (beta-2 receptor agonist) that works by opening breathing passages to make breathing easier. This drug is also known as orciprenaline in other countries. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)
