| 1 | Acne | Please please please someone tell me how long it takes to lose the weight gained from this medicine. I gained a total of 17lbs with 2 months of taking meds and still another month after stopping it. No matter what I do, how clean my diet is and how much I work out nothing changes. I'm so depressed. Dr said it would fall off once out of my system. Well it's been exactly 2 months now I've been off it. Someone please help. (I have PCOS.) Those cramps have just about all gone away on the Spiro. We recently built up to 200mg. After 2.5 weeks on that dosage, I started experiencing scary side effects: Leg cramps, breast pain, light headedness, headaches, confusion (especially with things like name/word recall), cramping around my lower back. I've been taking a lower dosage (150mg per day) for a week—leg cramps are gone and the confusion is much less. But I've noticed that about 7-8 hours after I've taken the medication, I can still get disoriented/light headed and anxious, especially if I've had a stressful day. The cramping in my lower back happens if I don't take another dose right away. I tested how long these symptoms last without taking a another dose: Eventually, the symptoms go away and my body calms down after about 2 hours. Its a scary process. I talke | I'm going to talk to talk to the doctor and drop my dosage back to 100mg, or maybe lower. I notice the facial hair slowed drastically (about 80% completely gone. However, I have experienced great weight loss on this medication which I am concerned about. I quite getting cysts on the ovarians, my periods became regular, my skin cleared for most part, facial hair was no longer a problem and my thin hair thickened up! I briefly had side and stomache pain when I dropped the dosage and I definitely get fatigue at times now that I am older but not enough to interfere in my life!
