Iwas hurt june 12th 2014 was put on Ibuprofen. In late july Gastro put me on Omeprazole(prilosec) to protect my stomach LOL! I got gastritis anyhow. Not only did it not protect my stomach I kept getting sicker and sicker every day. So I took myself off the Ibuprofen and kept taking the Omeprazole "to protect my stomach" but still just kept getting so sick I figured it must be the Omeprazole, so I looked up the side effects of it OMG!!! I took a total of 32 pills. I stopped taking it Sept 12th 2014 today is Oct 12th 2014 and it's the first day I feel a " littlte" ok. Every day for those 30 days except today I thought I was gonna die I was sooo sick! I went to the ER at least 10 times my family dr cardiologist neurologist Cleveland Clinic They were all at a loss and of course when I told them I think it was the severe side effects listed for Omeprazole they thought I was crazy. Anyhow thank God I found these forums that gave me some hope. Here were my symptoms severe drunk dizzy ,severe ! head and left ear pressure insomnia, nauseas numbness and tingling in arms face legs, weakness, feeling very faint, then EXTREME anxiety, depression and panic attacks which I never had in my life cant even explain them just thought I was losing my mind and body. The only thing besides these forums that helped me (and Im not done) was my faith in God, my family,and DIAZEPAM! This was sooo bad! | 1 | to protect stomach from ibuprofen d | UPDATE FROM OCT 12 got on 10 mg of diazepam 3 x a day every 6 hrs to deal with the EXTREME aniety it helped TREMENDOUSLY ! ( 5 mg was not enough) But anxiety comes back soon as meds wear off i get racy shakey severly drunk/ dizzy angry depressed and crying fits BUT less and less i plan to take diazepam for 3 months then wean off and see how i feel i pray to God im fully recovered by then But all the other symptoms are getting much better: EXTREME head and ear pressure faintness insomnia loss of appetite numbness/ tingling in arms legs hands and face - now just a little when im due for meds THERE IS HOPE keep praying get some anxiety meds if you need to! | 1 | to protect stomach from ibuprofen d | Its been 60 days since discontinued prilosec | Just want to encourage ALL WHO ARE SUFFERING from severe side effects - I AM GETTING BETTER !!!! THANK YOU GOD !!! Still have some anxiety and some pressure in head and ears also a lttle dizziness BUT NOTHING compared to when it started( early Sept) Anyhow make sure you STOP taking it ! I had to get 10 mg diazepm 3x's a day for the EXTREME ANXIETY worked good - first tried 5 mg didnt work fought anxiety ALL DAY!
