1  unconfirmed bacterial infection SEVERE joint pain EVERYWHERE. Barely able to walk, confined to bed. Muscle pains as well. Large red welts on calves, hands, and arms. Sensitivity to light/eye pain. I was hospitalized for 2 days, they could find nothing wrong with me except for severe inflammation in my body and concluded it was due to the Cipro. I was a very healthy, active person. I took cipro once before many years ago for a UTI, and I remember it made me feel horrible and I could not complete the treatment. Within 2 days of taking the Cipro, I began to have severe joint pain and painful red welts. I thought that it was part of my infection and did not make the connection soon enough. I took it for the full 7 days and ended up in the hospital. Both of my doctors agreed that it was all probably due to the Cipro. I have NEVER been so sick in my life. I wanted to die. I missed 3 weeks of work. It has now been almost 2 weeks since I stopped the Cipro, and I thought I was getting better until today. I woke up with SEVERE pain in my left knee, which is causing me to limp, lower back pain, and pain in my foot. This is all very foreign to me as I have always taken excellent care of myself and NEVER had any problems like this, so the torture continues, even after I have stopped the medication. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!!!!!!!!!!!! F 37 7 days
