1  Ulcer Shortness of breath, could not take a deep breath easily, insomnia, no appetite, extreme dry mouth and thirst, Severe Anxiety that would creep in all day, possible panic attacks (never have had one before), depression, big lump in throat After 4 days the shortness of breath started. I called the Dr. office who thought it was anxiety as it was not possible for Omeprazole to do such a thing. I continued taking and stopped at day 10 after reading reviews. 4 days later feel slightly less anxious however the breathing is not better. I will continue to update as I want to spread the word what this horrible drug did. Also, I am absolutely disgusted with the Doctors that apparently do not know the horrible side effects of this. Breathing issues are considered a serious yet rare occurrence and the Dr. office should have told me to stop the drug immediately. In 10 days I have been to the ER once, seen a GI Doc, an ENT, had my Vocal Cords checked, seen a Pulmonologist and allergist to check for Asthma. My Insurance company is hating me. F 33 10 days

1  Ulcer occasional trouble getting a deep breath, occasional anxiety It has now been 5 weeks since I stopped taking Prilosec. The breathing difficulties and anxiety, once extremely severe, have simmered down to an occasional feeling. I am now sure that the previous severity was due to Prilosec making me extremely agitated and anxious - in a virtually permanent state of anxiety. I will never take this drug or any other acid blocker or reducer as I have had negative effects from all of them. As mentioned in my original post the Doctors said there was no way the breathing problems were due to Prilosec and told me to continue taking it. In fact every Doctor I have talked to in regards to this problem seemed to believe it was impossible and wanted me to go on anxiety meds....not happening. I can honestly say I despise Doctors and the way they push drugs onto patients as their method of treatment. F 33
